I would strongly suggest everyone try to tune in to “The Juggalo Show” tonight on PsychopathicRadio.com as I am sure they will be talking about a bunch of Gathering stuff as this will be the last PsyRadio show before The Gathering.

Or maybe get the chance to call in and straight up ASK whatever you need to know.

Well fuck a whole lotta THAT… they chose not to talk about the Gathering AT ALL…

loco_gif

dude the last three episodes were all about the gathering. What did you want them to talk about exactly? I’m sure it’s on one of the episodes.

I know right…how disappointing.

There’s always more to talk about the gathering

Uh, I dunno… maybe reaffirming shit like there only being FIVE people to a Ballas RV and making sure everyone knew that no one was allowed to do any “Trojan Camping” setting up elsewhere, letting people know about little known rules of The Valley like “No outside firewood” or maybe talking about that bullshit meme going around of a FAKE Fox News report saying that the place will be raided with people being carted off to FEMA camps…?

Maybe reaffirming how anyone starting shit with Nova or Wakka will be beat down…

Soooo many other things they could have put out there to squash/quell the bullshit…. They may have covered the artists but there’s plenty of other shit to have talked about…

Gee, I dunno… maybe being more specific about the Missing Link [FOUND] being available IN THE PARKING LOT before hand…?

Missed opportunity, IMO.

Ugh… I’m so tired of being excited, know what I mean?

I was excited when I bought my tickets within the first half hour they went on sale in February. I was excited when they started announcing the headliners. I was excited when the infomercial came out. I was excited when the program/schedule came out. I was excited when I finally got all of my gear I think I’ll need…

I’m fuckin’ POOPED on all this excitement! TWO MORE DAYS until I leave and I’m just gonna pretend like everything’s chill. Even though inside I’m a bag of nerves and worries, expectations and looking-forward-to’s….

I’m like this:

lol I love that I get just as excited for this gathering as I did for my first…I don’t think that feeling will ever go away :)

Conversely, I remember that leaving the first couple gatherings was so hard for me, I hated that homesick feeling!

I know you said “so far” but just in case anyone else is packing according to the weather forecast….I highly recommend taking clothing for all types of weather, Ohio’s weather forecast changes by the day I swear

Low 80’s no rain would be so perfect though!

Yah i agree it keeps changing each day. The mon and tues forecast worries me a little for the dampness of the grounds. Hopefully its not all damp and muddy. Im still gonna bring extra socks and a poncho just in case and a few pairs of cheapie shoes like my shaq sneakers that are suppose to look like jordans. It says”dunkman” instead of “jumpman” lol

lol Yea I’m really worried that this year is going to be a repeat of “the year of the mud” Pataskala gathering in 2006.  It’s been flash flooding all over Ohio for weeks…

That was the only other gathering that I’ve been to and as much fun as it was, I was hoping that this time wasn’t going to be a repeat. It’s starting to look like it might be but eh, trash bags on the feet and it all works out.

Damn yea I’m still hoping that it’s not quite that bad…that was my first gathering too and I got so sick I had to go home early.

From what I’ve seen in what few videos there are from the “Year of the Mud”, I think part of the reason it happened that way was because of the topography of Hog Rock. Lots of flats, not much run-off etc. Legend Valley on the other hand, all slopes downward towards the main stage and there are gullies along the lowest areas to prevent excess water from being joined into those huge mud pits that formed back at Hog Rock.

As far as preparing goes, YES definitely make sure you bring something for the COLD as well as the majority of heat you’ll experience. Last year, one night (for no reason) it went down into the 50’s. That may not seem to bad but when you’re sleeping in a tent with no real blankets, wearing shorts and a tank top… you’ll wake up FREEZING yer ass off!

But more than anything else…. THE ROCKS!!! Don’t go thinking that it won’t be an issue and don’t think that wearing sandals or flip-flops is gonna cut it; you WILL be sorry! Even in halfway decent shoes, I might recommend taping or “band-aiding” your pinkie and big toes. Slipping from side to side on the small rocks will cheese grate the skin off of ’em and you’ll be pissy about it the rest of the week.

Oh and I’d also recommend not drinking TOO much during the DAY. Alcohol and heat exhaustion are not a good thing and you’ll be sweating it out of your pores like a pig all day.

Just be smart about your own body and act like ya know!

^^^^^^^^^^^^Definitely some good tips

It got freezing last year, even with pants on!  Ohio weather can have all 4 seasons in a day so def. come prepared.  The weather forecast has literally changed every time I look at it but it’s supposed to be down in the 50’s again during the nights.

And also the Year of the Mud was the year before we went to Hog Rock, but yea I think the land at Frontier Ranch was just all dirt to begin with (there were literally fields of mud with seemingly no grass or anything…Hog Rock got muddy patches/pits but no where near as bad).  Even if this year is muddy I can’t imagine it will actually be as bad as the Year of the Mud.  The mud was so deep it suctioned your shoes off with every step.

I’ve brought boots every year since.

He is not kidding boys and girls it sucked literally.  Still was a great weekend so don’t let mud stop you if it happens…just roll with it lol.
