Now that we're officially less than a month away, it's time to begin the real preparations. There's lots of things that can be brought to help out the survival expedition that is the Family Reunion, so lets hear it. I'm talking to you, vets.

I'll start. For one, have a packing list written out or on your phone. It makes forgetting shit on the sad trip home less likely. Now, in no particular order...

Safety cash for trip home. (Right now, take $20-$50 and put it in the ride now. If you're lucky, you'll forget about it until you really need it.)

Towels

Toilet Paper

Sunglasses

Flashlights (Crank powered is best, no batteries)

Markers for that impromptu signature or display sign

Wet wipes

folding chairs

10 pairs of socks and at least 2 pairs of shoes. As a 10yr vet I CANNOT stress this enough!

Wet Wipes

Cold weather gear (It can get chilly at 4am)

Sunscreen

Cell Phone portable battery (and 2 cords to charge the battery and your phone at a baller site)

That's just to get everyone started. Feel free to add items to the list, maybe even a story about how it helped you through a particular Gathering event. MCL Fam, see ya'all in a month.

Papers

Smokes

Lighters

Glowsticks

Valtrex

Water

Gatorade or electrolyte pills.

Immodium AD

Clothing that isnt black.

I'm gonna have a hard time with that considering that 100% of my clothing is black. I'm used to the heat and black clothes though, do it every day.

DEODORANT! Can't stress that enough. The crowd at ICP's set is tough to be in until the Faygo starts showering people. It makes me gag!

I thought I was the only one who cared about personal hygiene at the gathering lol. Don't forget floss and mouthwash. A travel kit for shampoo isn't really enough but bring that and maybe 3 towels.

The clothespin/respirator reminded me, a 5 gallon bucket and an old toilet seat is WAAYY better than a port-o-potty. Though I don't suggest filling the bucket, llal. Take it FAR into the woods and dump/bury it, but the extra effort still beats the shit out of using the designated shitters there. 110 degrees hotboxing with 50 juggalos' shit? Nah, bro I'm good.

One thing i hope everyone reads.

Its your bank.

Me and my girlfriend traveled pretty far last year and of course made purchases along the way.

Make a long story short im in the but crack of no where with two frozen bank acounts and the nearest bank was a state away.

I got it togther but its scary being in the middle of the the country with no money.

So call your banks people let them know.

On the inexpensive food tip, for $4 you can get yourself a box of crackers and a jar of goober (the peanut butter jelly mix). It may not be glamorous, but its got carbs, sugar and protein to keep you going. I lived off that at GOTJ05, probably about the only preparation I made that year, we didn't even have (or need, llal)  tickets.

Ahh, Crystal Forest...those were the days.

If i remember correctly the 05 charm was a fucking circle.  Easy as hell to fake lol.  I cut off and sold my wrist band twice that year to survive as I came woefully illequipped.  Im honestly surprised the guy gave me a third one when I gave him the same tired ass story about how I lost it in the moshpit.  He probably felt bad for my young scrubby ass.
