The constitution has so many ways it can be used, I highly doubt the founding fathers had hate groups and the rights they should have when they were writing the shit though. It’s the same with the right to bear arms, which I have no problem with. When people start using that right to claim that they should be able to have an arsenal in their basement, including hand grenades and uzi’s, I think that’s taking it a little too far. I have no problem with people owing said weapons, but using the constitution to justify their ownership of them is laughable. You know what kind of guns they had back when the constitution was written? Muskets. They were saying you have the right to own a musket.

Muskets were all you needed to fend off government tyranny back then. Just sayin yo.

I respectfully disagree LTB. A musket isn’t really good for much of defending against anything. Took too long to reload, only fired one shot. A musket is all you need to shoot somebody breaking into your house. Given your aim is good, otherwise you’re in trouble.

But that’s all the gov’t had then too was my point lol. Muskets are impractical for many reasons, that’s obvious. What i meant is, the 2nd amendment was put in place to defend yourself from, among other things, a tyrannical government. So, back then a militia of motivated men armed with muskets could defend themselves against the government if shit went south. Now a days, automatic weapons, high caliber weapons, etc. are needed for that. Hence why the 2nd amendment should protect the right to own those. The writers of the constitution weren’t idiots. They knew times would change, and wrote the constitution in a way that it too could adapt to the times. Just like when nazi puppets wanna rally and preach their hate filled gospel, they have the right to do that so long as they don’t actually harm or encite the harm of anyone/thing because that’s what makes this country the shit.
