a few good songs, the beat maker call outs and terrible quality however, ruin this weird attempt at a female joker card.

they shouldve paid Str8jaket.

I wouldn't go as far as to say it completely ruins the entire album however...I agree with all your other points lol the beatmaker tags definitely get annoying and take you out of the "Joker Card" vibe and although I feel like the terrible mixing/audio quality only applies to maybe 2-3 songs tops it's definitely noticeable especially on Something to See which is flat out unlistenable to me...the background singing vocals during ICP's verses on Heart & Soul are also too overbearing and kind of ruin the verses for me...should have kept the singing on the chorus and not let it spill into the 2nd half of their verses IMO...I've noticed that whenever ICP does these collaborations with older bands/singers the songs tend to be pretty boring (probably because those artists don't want to be featured on something too vulgar or disturbing)...Slapnut is just kind of there for me...it's not trash but also not a standout either and just feels like something they've done numerous times already and as I mentioned before I wish they would have picked a different beat for Gangsta Code and/or mixed it better...lyrically I dig what they were going for just feel like that's not the right beat for it...those are probably my only major gripes with the album other than I would have liked Shaggy to be more prominently featured...someone pointed out already that he's actually on this quite a bit but just feels like a more mailed in performance than usual from Shaggy...definitely could have used a head producer overseeing it all...people may have issues with FFF but Str8jaket did a great job of making it SOUND great and consistent...feels like they reached out to him last minute to help but he couldn't tackle mixing all the songs before the release date so they just let a few slide with sounding as they did lol

chick on the intro talks like Edward from Cowboy Bebop LOL

On 1st listen I'm liking this project a lot more than FFF.. They're pretty much showing Twiztid/MNE how to properly incorporate rock into your sound.. The only thing I dislike and could do without is the 2nd part of the "panic attack" hook, where J's screaming it.. with that said I like the beats they used the most.. "F the world" & "Fuck Regret" are the main standout songs to me.. I could see 9, 10, & 15 being on "Karma Forest"..

I listened to the songs on Youtube first and then listened on Spotify and there was a noticeable increase in sound quality. I'm guessing the Youtube uploads are the wav files they sent out to the people who pre-ordered. But it did sound much better. But yes like the previous post said the mixing on Something to See is very bad regardless. I am enjoying quite a few of the songs so far and i think a few more will grow on me.

The producer tags are horrible tho. Especially the one in the MIDDLE of Insomnia. I really cant believe they did that. Took me right out of the song :(

Pretty funny the tags are mentioned to promote the producer, but all it does is make you resent then

 Break down of it

Intro- Okay I didn't realize based on the samplers that this was supposed to actually be the Yum Yum Flower calling out to someone. I figured it was just supposed to be a skit of a toxic chick. Maybe it's just my interpretation of this Intro.

Here Comes the Carnival-Alright I loved this intro track. It's not exactly like Hokus Pokus, In Yo Face, Murder Go Round, or Get Clowned. It feels like a huge celebration of ICPs 30 years. All the callbacks to the Tunnel Of Love, Terror Wheel, Tilt A whirl, Funhouse, Mighty Death Pop and Bang Pow Boom. This track already has a special place for me. It's catchy and fun. Perfect way to kick off the album.

Wretched-Track does feel out of place but feeds anyone that's into ICPs wicked music. This does show Violent J still has a wicked bone in him. Hopefully we get more of this. The track is well structured and J flows well to this beat. Pretty sure this track wasn't originally gonna be on the album. Had to be recorded after last December.

Clown Dripin-Based on the samples I was certain I'd hate this track because of the beat but I actually got a kick out of it surprisingly. I try to stay open minded when it comes to these beats. I'd rather ICP not use them but hey the song I enjoyed.

Gangsta Code-Okay this is the first dent in this album. Got a kick out of the "Take my shit back" Really didn't like them reusing a old beat. Not because it was a Boondox beat, it's because it just seems lazy. Yes I am aware ICP reused songs from EPs to put on classic joker cards and redid a few tracks.

Queens-Second dent. Okay I can't stand Js over done vocals on the chorus. I like the idea of this track but overall it loses me. Potential was there.

Panic Attack- Loved this track but it's not as good as J's last Panic attack track. Remember Faster from the Shining? Was about the same subject matter. Still this is a very listenable track and the ending with the Richard Cheese Fuck the World was epic!

Fuck Regret- This idea behind this track speaks a lot. To many people live with regret. We shame ourselves for our failures when we tried. This song could have been a subject matter on FFF easily. But it's welcome to this album. I noticed a little buzzing on the end. Not sure if it's my headphones. If anyone caught this let me know.

Insomnia- Okay I love the beat but damn overall this songs chorus sucks. Its not catchy the least but. Sounds like a Forgotten Freshness track. I'm sure theirs a song on the seeds that could have been swapped on to this album. Hell even a re done Ding Ding Doll would have been welcome.

Heart and Soul- Okay you either love or hate this track. I love it. Yeah it could have been on a Smothered covered and Chunked 2. It's a cover in the typical fashion. But adding Vinnies lyrics on the track was sick! Really fed my love for 90s and 80s style music. Fun track. I've seen some complaints the background vocals are a little to loud. I can agree

Drunk and Addict- I also figured this would be a skipable song. But it's pretty likable all around. Plus it was interesting seeing J and Shaggy tackle subject matters they have delt with. Very well documented.

Don't touch that Flower- Some say this should have been at the beginning. But being honest by this point, it was well documented what the characters meaning was.  That was already thrown on us with the track Loyalty on Lure. It's pretty blunt and felt. Putting it midway was a decent way to keep some momentum on the album. I don't see alot of people talking about this song but it's kinda just there. Dig the beat.

Slapnut/Jokstas- I have no idea why the name of this track is different on the CD vs the Digital version. Possibly digital outlets fucked up? This is actually one of my favorite songs. I dig the chorus rapping style. Finally it hits with the guitars and adds in the "fuck with the Juggla can't fuck with the Juggla" brilliant

Bitch I'm Fine-Not bad I actually can forget about this track. It's not terrible it's just there. Which is kinda a negative if I can't think of much to say about it. I barely revisit this track.

Carnival of Lights-Im surprised how many people like this track. It's fun and feels like a Missing Link Found track. I will admit when ICP is mentioning several types of people. I can't make out what their saying fully. Track does remind me of We Belong. Same idea.

Ain't No Time- I love this track but again like Fuck Regret I'm noticing some annoying buzzing on the start and ending. When I listen with my headphones on. I doubt it's my headphones because eventually it fully drops off entering the next track. But this track itelf is pretty cool. It feels personal and the subject matter speaks

Something to See- The grand finale ending track. Better ending then FFFs Freedom. Definitely kinda inspires me a bit and left a good overall feeling in my heart. Not a emotional track like say "Time" but still a good way to close out the album.

Overall yes their are some production issues. I'm not gonna say this album is better then BPB, MPD, FFF but very welcome and it's gonna be on repeat. Also plenty of guitars but it's not over saturated with them like Twiztids new album. That album at points Twiztids vocals were drowned out badly. Props to ICP. I also can look past the tags. Main reason I'm not losing it over those.

@thatjuggal91 has summed it up well for me.

I am still a bit more annoyed at the Producer shout outs though.

I really wish I could get into this album like you guys are but I just can't. It's the beats and mixing. Every single album before this had a theme, and stuck to that. This is all over the place. I'm really surprised alot of people are diggin it. They seem so basic, and bland. This is something mike P could've pulled off but would've sounded 100x better IMO. I guess J is just staying to these new trap style beats probably so it's probably time for me to exit. Even the hallowicked song was bad. Oh well.

So, something occurred to me. And I think it might be part of why this album feels so weird.

Every other jokers cards, the "victims" and why they were targeted was pretty clear. The dark carnival punishes the wicked.

But who is yum yum targeting? The vain? Seems unlikely given ICP themselves are pretty vain. Is it dudes who are lured by the flower to leave their girls? Then yum yum is getting you to do it, while the other cards punish you after the fact

The concept just seems less clear.

I think it's supposed to be targeting the ones that lack loyalty. If you choose to be un loyal to your partner or friends. The way I see it if you mindlessly do your partner or friends dirty your soul is likely already consumed by Yum Yum.

That said though. One difference about this album itself. The concept feels less apparent at points. Its a pretty straight forward album like the Tempest, and Marvelous Missing Link albums. Unlike MDP, FFF, BPB which their presence feels everywhere in the skits and storytelling. This album has less storytelling. Which is one of ICPs strengths.

Hopefully ICP goes all in for the 2nd 6th. They won't top the original. But I'm curious what their gonna do to make sure the follow up to Yum Yum Bedlam feel unique and special. I feel most of our questions have already been answered.

I would call the album mid. I liked 7 out of 16 songs. That's more songs I liked than I did from prior joker cards FFF, TMML, BPB.
