I thought the low pitch was kinda annoying. A reason why I kinda stopped listening to his stuff when he started doing that. Pancakes and Syrup was cool but that shit gets annoying. But about his retirement, good luck to him. E made good music and it sucks for him to go but I hope he does whats best.

its one thing 2 make music on "drugs" but wat esham is doing is recording thru a depressive drug binge. these songs are too much fx, really sloppy mixing and thats due to his mindstate while recording.

when someone is in a brighter state of mind and on drugs making music we can get a record like "mail dominance' or "wicket world wide".

lately esham is just throwin out rough mixes, lots of fx and its a lot of throwaway. its sad

I don't think it's the depressive drug binge, because honesty I think that would probably produce some good music.

I think it's his lack of motivation, like, he doesn't make music because he has a passion for making music, he makes music because he has a passion for making money.

if that was the case he wouldve put out 2 or 3 albums this year like he usually does.. instead he might only get one out this year i think he just lost his passion for makin music in general cuz of the stress over how bullshit the rap game is.. i know ive felt like quitting multiple times this year

I also think E doesn't sell nearly enough records these days for it to be a viable source of income for him. That would mean that it is only passion for the music that is keeping him recording

Esham has money. Idk where the notion comes from that he's broke. I do understand he doesn't make THAT much off record sales. But his royalties are still more then just about anyone on this forum makes I'm sure.

im afraid the conclusion is invalid, due to denial of the inclusionary disjunct.  minus one point.

  awfully paranoid, arent you?

ok mr pedantic…..What I mean is that if he isn't making much money off album sales then it stands to reason that his motivation for recording is probably not monetary. My comment was made in response to Lucem's comment about E being in it for the money.

I would be surprised if Esham had any money, at all. I met him at the first Gathering I ever went to in Peoria. Dude was cool as hell, but obviously broke. He walked into a bar a bunch of Juggalos were in with his bodyguard and started eating other people's food. He was like "Yo, I can grab that right?" Who wants to say no to Esham? Dude was the shit back then, nobody was gonna be like "No, that's our pizza Esham, go get your own!" That's all good and everything but dude called himself a self made millionaire, all I saw was a dude who couldn't buy his own pizza. Shit was sad

He was the mystery guest that year, during his set he threw water on the crowd but wouldn't throw out the bottle. He would toss it to a guy standing on the side of the stage, never seen a performer do that. People sitting in our section came to the conclusion that, being from Michigan and eveything, those bottles are worth 10 cents. It really looked like he was bringing them home with him. Instead of the unholy people started calling him Esham the unwealthy. Like I said, shit was sad. He's gonna retire huh? Yeah, okay

Maybe he's not quite as greedy as I may have made him out to be, but it still seems like he's uninspired. Like, he's going through rough times and his music just gets seemingly staler and staler and less passionate. I mean, I liked DMT session, I listed it as one of my favorite releases of 2011, but some those songs just seemed like he wasn't really feeling it. Lyrically some of those songs were just kind of off. I haven't heard all of the death of an Indy label album, but from what I have heard the only good track on there is the intro track (which is one of the best songs he's ever made IMO) and the rest that I have heard were disappointing. Same with the Holy Black Mamba or what ever that album was, it disappointed me.

I hope this new album isn't so bad, but my expectations for it aren't that high. Regardless, one has to give props when props are do. Esham, one of the hidden gods of Hip Hop. R.I.K. (Rest Inthe Kitchen)

you talkin about comatose? that tracks cool but not the best on it imo.. esham & araab are magic together.. those 3 tracks are the best on the album imo..

I always thought esham was hit or miss myself. some of his shit was dope(I sit back and i think-with this blunt and this drink-should i slit my fuckin wrist-blood drippin down the sink-do i need to see a shrink?-bloods on my white mink-im writin rhymes in blood cuz i don't use ink)

I loved him on the supa villians cd also. that being said  ALOT of his shit is wack as fuck (woo-woo-woo anyone? Mr Honey nut cheerios?) and there's a few of his songs where he takes on a black militant view almost hating on whites. I personally don't care about him dissing psychopathic.  its always been more about the music and the individuality more than family for me… but im sure alot of people did therefore he alienated what little fanbase he had left. Theres a reason he is going to  cooking school now. God bless the man and I hope things get better for him. I know that addiction isn't easy and your no longer the same person and you say and do things that you wouldn't normally. Its like rittz says in "nowhere to run"  "if the shit was meant to be it would happen" . Time for esham and all of us to move on
