So finally got my cd and the cd-r thing really bugs me. I don’t get it, the packaging and everything is great and then they throw a fucking burnt cd in it. I’m a cd collector and my fear is that later next year(or many years down the line like eye of the storm) this will receive a proper store release and I’ll have to buy it again for an actual pressed cd. Oh well we haven’t had this many quality releases from icp in one year since 1994. However if this was the quickest way to release it they should’ve waited for next year.

I say faggot a lot, but I don’t hate homosexual people.Just because you don’t count it as something doesn’t mean other people don’t. Just food for thought.
Not long ago I read a book called “The Joy of Hate” (great/funny book btw) where it talks about how people get joy out of getting offended over everything and then starting arguments (the overly sensitive people)… and all I can say is I absolutely love offending those types of people, lol. You really have to be ignorant to call someone homophobic for using the word fag and not knowing anything else about them. It just seems so ridiculous to me to be so fuckin PC in a ICP forum… on so many different levels.
Like I said, I don’t give a fuck. I am saying it is wrong to assume that just because YOU don’t find something offensive doesn’t mean you have the right to tell people they have to feel the same you do.
I wasn’t saying that. People always get offended over everything. I was just saying that it isn’t historically a slur. It’s used as a slur, just like fairy is, but the word it’s self is not a slur. So to label somebody a bigot over it is a bit far. The original guy calling people faggots, yeah he was a bigot. You can tell by the way he was saying it. But me, you and Novo are not bigots. Then again, me you and Novo don’t really seem to throw that word around a lot. But, since I can’t deny the fact that it mainly is used as a slur, regardless of it’s true meaning, I will try to cut back on saying faggot. I’ll use contempt instead.

Ok so after listening through Phantom a few times my judgement is this; I don’t like it. These songs sound to be made along with all the other songs on MML: Lost which I also didn’t like for the same reason. The reason is that basically all the beats sound the same and the style doesn’t appeal to me at all. It’s those dirty south beats with the ridiculous amounts of hi-hats and brain dead “chopped and screwed” style choruses. I appreciate ICP because each Joker card has it’s own vibe and feel, so I’m never expecting them to repeat themselves. It’s just for my tastes, I can’t get into this style. J and Shaggy barely seem to rap over these beats, they are basically just talking in rhymes.
That being said, the actual song “Phantom” is the bomb and I think is definitely one of their best songs in the whole second-deck era. The general vibe and content of that song really hit a home run with me, especially Shaggy’s delivery as well as the chorus. Of course, that beat is really what does it. I’d have an entirely different opinion of the MML era if the songs more consistently along the lines of Phantom, Lost At The Carnival, and some of the out takes like The Monster, The Dream, The Carousel (damn they made some sweet “The” songs).
Oh, and I had no problem with all the sound clips on the Phantom disc. If I don’t want to hear them, I’ll fast forward. But for now they amuse me and I laugh. Overall, no clue why they use the phrase “X-Tra Spooky” since only “Phantom” lends itself to that tag.

I recognized a lot of the skits from YouTube videos I’d seen from the news, infomercials, etc. the skits are alright, and I enjoyed the Jeckel Brothers ICP interview.
As for the tracks, the original 5 that were released at the GOTJ seminar are really good, and I liked the Williamsburg Psych Ward a lot, easily my favorite of the last four tracks. The Get Clowned remix isn’t nearly as good as the one on Found.
Overall it’s an acceptable release with a booklet full of exciting news that I’m stoked for. I’m thankful they ended the year with yet another release for us, if the 5 releases they put out this year plus “Slaughter” are any indication of what’s coming next year I’m stoked for the future of Psy. This was their most solid year of releases for quite a few years in my opinion.
Overall I’d rate the EP about 3.5/5.

Pretty much how I feel about TML era stuff.
On a side note, the Get Clowned remix is the Otis version, Kuma produced the Found version. I think we can all agree Kuma’s version is far better. So my question is, how much better would TML era shit be if Kuma was making more beats, and Otis was doing less. Imagine how much better Phantom could’ve been if it wasn’t an entirely Otis produced album. Less people would be complaining about these soundcloud-sounding beats with those damn hi-hats.
Kuma produces some good music. Look at medicine bag, the mud water air and blood, his tracks on TML.

If I’m not mistaken, he also produced “Red Moon Howl”. I don’t give a fuck what anybody thinks, that song is dope. If you don’t at least like the beat, you’re crazy. If anything, the producers should be limited to Kuma, Seven, and Mike E Clark. Then again I can dig some Mike P stuff too, but I wouldn’t miss him if those others were in the mix.

Red howl moon was good, but i think most people were downing it for it being a hallowicked track. IMO the last few hallowicked singles were not good for hallowicked. I think they need to sound spookier or more Halloweenish.
I really like all of ICP’s Hallowicked tracks, except the newest one Haunted By The Devil, which is usually the case.
Hated If I Ate Your Brains when it came out, hated This Halloween Is Crazy, hated Amber Alert, Halloween Head, Red Moon Howl, Scary Kidz, but now I love all of those songs and bump them all around Halloween. (Except I Saw A Monster, I think that song is super boring)

Agreed, although I surprisingly didn’t like any of Mike P’s newest beats that he made for ICP on TML. Pineapple Pizza sounds like a fucking MC Chris beat. Also wasn’t impressed with his beats on How, Lost, and Dreams of Grandeur. Confederate Flag and Vomit were dope though.

eh, i say faggot occasionally. not really very much, only to call my friends that when they piss me off.
but ill be damned if i let myself be sensored by the pc police (AKA: The dont be a bigot squad, AKA: The its not about being pc is about being a decent human being police. its all the same thing)
i certainly have never walked up to a gay person and said ‘hey faggot, we dun take kindly to your type round ere’. because that would just be rude, where you stick your genitals is none of my business. because thats all being gay/lesibian/whatever really is. sexual preference. and that aint my concern.
if i tell you we dont kindly to your type round ehre, its because your being a… well…… faggot. and not the gay kind. the harley riding douchebag who never shuts up kind.
to end my rant, i will say this: i wont stop saying it. but i never really said it a great deal in the first place, actually i cant think of more than 2 or 3 times where i said it in a non informative manner, so its a win win for all i guess. if the pc police wanna get all nancy boy on me and rant, meh. do your worst.
