i dont think tech sold out, im just sayin he lost me as a fan on wat he is tryin 2 accomplish. hes alreaday successful. he doesnt make mainstream sounding music to even sell out. his fast rappin delivery actually limits him in success in pop music. kids wanna sing along, not listen or watch his speed of light rapping. im at the clubs in LA and he just aint gonna make that kindda music thats popular. its not his style.

he can work with whoever he wants, and he got an MTV award for "red nose", he bought air time for the strange tour or for some reason mtv wanted 2 give him an hour on their network when they dont play him or any of the artists they highlighted lol. it was like the shockumentary on mtv lol.

tech is cool, hes fine at wat he does. but this whole hes gonna go mainstream aint gonna happen. hes as big right now as he will ever be. hes kindda old, hes had a good run. "fuck food" is a good song. juggalos just hate wayne cuz its tradition to hate mainstream.

As an artist and actually as a human being I want to be accepted by everybody. I want to be mainstream. I won't lie, I do often times care what haters think. The thing is that I still refuse to change because of what people think, I want to be accepted as me. The only way I'd change is if I think that I am doing something extremely immoral or if I think it'd make me a better person. I agree with Slum though, he has complained many times about not being on MTV. He never said "fuck the mainstream". So he hasn't really sold out. I mean, comparing Tech to Violent J on the bending over backwards to be accepted by the mainstream thing is like comparing Hitler to Gandhi on philosophy.

Violent J is that guy who changes himself for the girl while she loses more and more of her interest in him.

Tech N9ne is that persistent dude who kept hitting on that girl until she finally went out with him.

We already went over this in the "OMG TECH IS A SELL OUT" forum.

It was like somebody who betrays their integrity, morals, etc. for personal gain. In which case everyone has sold out at least once in their lives.

Even then nobody really knows what his morals and such are you can only assume what they are.

a lil vague but i feel ya

Man after reading your post troublemaker it shows how similar J and Tech are. Don't these dudes realize the only reason they got big in the first place was BECAUSE they were different? And that not everyone out there wants what the mainstream gives? ICP were platinum in the Milenko/AJB eras despite the fact they were dissed on by the mainstream. But ICP dissed the mainstream back and remained a big name while still remaining hardcore. But that wasn't enough for J. No he had to find a way to win over everyone who hated them. But he didn't. He failed. He lost most of his fan base by selling the fuck out and they're still not accepted to this day. The worst part? He's still trying to be accepted by them. Just makes a person go wtf are you thinking snap out of it already.

Greed is a funny thing because it brings delusions of grandeur. People will throw away everything they worked for to be accepted by the mystical magical mainstream. It's the saddest thing watching it happen. Like watching your boy change everything about himself for a chick. The mainstream is that chick and many talented people throw everything cool about themselves away to get a piece of that pussy. And the hilarious part is that chick and her vagina have no respect for guys who do that. It's like the more ICP and Tech try to impress the mainstream, the more it hates them. While they're standing in the rain with a box of chocolates and flowers after being rejected by it, the mainstream is taking it from behind by people who don't give a fuck about it while they both laugh at and make fun of the dorks trying to hit it. Now ICP and Tech have no one to go home to anymore. WTF am I talking about.

Bottom line yalls, get off the mainstream's balls (or vagina), ICP and Tech out like Biggie Smalls. Well ICP anyway. tech still seems to be growing.

lol i rarely agree with you but that was a great analogy haha

The music industry was at its best era from 1999-2002. No matter wat you liked, mtv and radio was playin everything. they had all types of hip hop, nu metal was in, boy bands or watever there was so many styles of music gettin play. i used 2 watch godsmack, pod and marilyn manson on mtv. now its all just R&B and techno shit.

basically wat i mean was everyone was almost mainstream lol. they were playin everything on tv and albums were selling. now its rock bottom, just R and B and alot of love songs. it sucks 2 be a man when u cant hear no aggressive music. thats why ICP is gettin a lot of hate from their fans, cuz radio and music is just filled with glossy overproduced bubble gum and we want to hear that killer shit, and we get juggalo island and mighty death poo

It seems we are still in the "bling bling" era. Could be wrong as I don't listen to the radio anymore.

It does seem cool to hate on lil wayne man.If you look at the comments on youtube, I don't care if it's a fucking documentary on Yanomami tribe, It turns into an argument about lil wayne or justin beiber.

I respect the shit out of him for not writing anything down in a way. But it made his rap suffer. The dude just really isn't that good at freestyling and that's all he does on his tracks.

People love that mother fucker and I respect that though.

well i wasnt a teenager during the 70s and 80s when those albums came out and were brand new. i was into the music that was going on in my current era. nowadays kids grab eras and only listen to shit. like we have greasers in 2012, haha. kids in the 70s didnt go, im gonna keep dressin like its the 60s and only listen to that shit, music moved with the times and people evolved.

in the 90s nirvana brought the darkness and anger to mainstream and he didnt plan 4 that attention, he killed himself. 2pac was too gangsta and called out people and was raw! then we got limp bizkit and the riots they started. i hated when icp dissed bizkit cuz they were givin people angry music and had korn and other nu metal bands bringin out new music. ICP was in that mix as well just not as popular. but that era brought out so much negativity that now we are in the generation Y era where its all about recycling wearing tight pants and bein a romantic lol

I'm talking out of my ass about Tech and trolling for jokes. I just always hear the similarities of him and J trying to go mainstream. But as far as I know, Tech never said fuck the mainstream, only the industry. He probably learned from ICP when they said fuck the mainstream and tried crawling back. He wants to avoid all that shit and keep growing. ICP truly did sell out to be accepted. They went back on everything they said. Tech diversifies himself to keep growing. That's not selling out.

Well said and without all the douchiness I said lol.

Must be weird being J. Being the guy who makes all the mistakes everyone learns from while he watches them get what he wants.
