The whole song is NOT a diss. Tech’s verse wasn’t either. It was simply a response to J’s statements made on the HOT 97 interview. None of which was a diss either.
Well it’s hardy a friendly shout out to J is it mate? It’s not a verse telling J how much he loves him is it??

Look I don’t like what’s happened either, as I love all these underground artists. But to dismiss this and say Tech isn’t dissing hes just responding or stating facts is a little silly. So what he doing then?? Stating facts, while rapping aggressively, in a song for everyone to hear, calling out J’s name personally? OK then!

My point was any ninjas who had money to spend on merch/vip were blowing it at TECH’s gigs, he benefited from ICP’s limited availability to tour.
TECH’s #1 asset is his work ethic to tour. Also back in the day his street team would hand you a sampler on the way out the door, which is strong.
One thing I really dig about tech shows is Strange’s merch ninjas going around the crowd with boxes of CD’s for sale throught the entire show. Beats waiting in line if you only want a CD or two.

This is no different than saying something on a publicly accessable podcast where the fans listen in. Door swings both ways here.
It’s not a diss. The man who rapped the diss said so, and I believe it. A response, sure. But the root of the word ‘diss’ is ‘disrespected’, and there’s nothing here any worse in those terms than what was initially said. Besides, how many diss tracks have you heard that end with the rapper telling his target “Now say you’re sorry!”

Either way, it’ll be interesting to see if ICP ‘respond’ back.
It’d be nice if they could settle it. Always wanted to hear another ICP and Tech song man! Maybe ICP could appear on a Tech album haha.
Not keen on the songs they’ve made together. Other than Thug Pit. That was cool!

Let’s not forget that Travis was a millionaire before he even agreed to be CEO of strange.
It is not a black and white issue of “tech for famous only of of juggalos”, or “tech made it all on his own” there are tons of little factors that tie in and smudge the face paint to various shades of grey.

Tech just talked to a guy named Scottie who’s down with the clowns(hmmm?) apparently Mr. Yates has had the same # for 15 years. yeah the context that interview adds def makes the song better.. just listened to that project, starting at that song and it’s still pretty good.. too good to be the mdp sideshow, haha..

Yea House of Wax is way better than some of their actual Albums, but no denying Hopsin was inspired by ICP as well, you used to even be able to find a phone call with him and Jokerr where Hopsin is saying he wants to make a movement like ICP and what not, it may still be on YouTube, I remember when I was a kid around Riddle Box and Milenko just releasing, ICP was respected, and every CD they dropped you didn’t even have to skip a track, even casual fans was into them, then they started flooding merch to Mall stores, becoming less mysterious, people got embarrassed to even listen to them in public

Then all you seen reppin ICP at school was super big chicks, and that one kid that always stunk, but around the mid late 90s, all the people I knew really into them had fresh cars, was real clean, like Vinny the ICP kid, and people respected them, they really messed up by starting to become less of a mystery and flooding merch, etc

Icp was a fad for most people because of the milenko/Disney fiasco. As soon as that died down the mainstream audience forgot about them. Has nothing to do with merch being in stores. I do agree the mystery was gone after ajb.

Hey there mate! How ya doin fella? I didn’t say it was a verse shouting out how much he loves him. On some Instagram replies he recently said they are family. Just misinformed on the information that was said on HOT97 which is true as much as I got love for ICP. Yes they were showing love but at times it did seem as if J primarily wanted to start shit.
So if someone is pissed off about something do you expect them to rap nicely? I don’t think so. It could have been said personally but when J says Tech changed his number and Tech says J hasn’t answered any of his texts what do you really expect?

theres a difference between being judged by a random person/group/society.. its a whole ‘nother thing to be discriminated, castigated, and targeted by law enforcement/”peace keepers”/governement officials…
