Tech had completed a half dozen nationwide tours before wicked wonka. That is a fact. He was NOT some local act before icp put him on that tour. He was already making a lot of noise on the underground scene before then. I’ve been following tech since before anghellic. Should he give juggalos props and recognition for what they’ve done for him? Yes absolutely and he does. He’s never dissed juggalos or icp. Violent j put him on blast he simply gave his opinion. The only thing strange copied from psychopathic was the merch game which they surpassed.Wrong, he never had a nationwide coast to coast tour before ICP let him come open for them. And by “making a lot of noise” you mean a few select people who were REALLLY into underground rap maybe knew him. He was not a successful act by any means whatsoever…
Tech had a headlining tour for Absolute power, but it was in like 2004, which was after wicked wonka. I’m sure he had done other tours opening up for people before that. Anghellic came out in 2000? 2001?

he never fucking denied that. Ever.
Also, lots of people have similar business models. I mean, shit, touring, releasing albums, merch. That’s ICPs model that tech stole? PLEASE. That’s everybodys model.
Tech ain’t hosting gatherings. He doesn’t, as far as I know, have “strange days” events. His brother isn’t his fucking CFO or some shit. He ain’t financing games. He ain’t fucking the first chick that got on his label. Oh whats the Strange Championshit Wrestling?
Are there similarities? Yeah. there’s going to be because they are in the same industry and neither one of them is doing something no one else has done.
Tech should have talked nicer about juggalos. go back and read that thread, I said straight up i didn’t like the way he was talking about us. but we don’t know what shit is like from his perspective on that wicked wonka tour. We flat out weren’t on the stage and have no idea what he saw. If he says he saw people with their backs to him, we can either believe him or think he’s lying but we’ll never know for sure what he saw.
I didn’t say he was a liar about winning over crowds. But yes, you’re just blind. Tech very much copied that independent touring and merchandising ideaology from PSY and Subnoize (who got it from PSY). Idk how long you’ve been in this scene for but nobody was doing shit like that back then, deff not tech. Then after a few tours he’s doing EXACTLY what they were doing??? Cmon, just admit I’m right and your wrong.

I don’t know how long you been in this scene but I been here since before tech and I saw him come up and I dug his shit. I don’t really fuck with him much now (though I fucking love the storm).
ICP didn’t invent touring and merch. Lots of people did that shit on the indie tip DECADES before ICP.

What I’m honestly asking you dude is you actually don’t believe he saw what they were doing and copied it (but better)? Like not even being a dick. I feel like you have to Be a blind fool not to see it…

Lol exactly. All of their verses fucking sucked. I dig the quick rapping style too but these dudes are boring. Tech had the worst one, lol. It’s just sounds like three idiots who talk too damn much.
Tech is intelligent rap.. if you are a complete moron.
J crushes anything he’s ever spit with faaar less bars.
Also, Tech is NOT wicked at all. “Devil Boy”? Pfft. Even back then he was half steppin’ the wicked shit.

No, I don’t think he sat there and copied them. If he did, he did a lousy job of it. Most of what psy does that is special is completely absent from strange music.
What is similar is industry standard. Are they very very similar? For sure. But touring and having merch, shit even naming your fans isn’t something icp came up with. It wasn’t a blueprint that tech saw and said shit i can copy them and get rich.
I mean even on the tour front they have done very different things. ICP has toured with legendary acts opening. Tech ain’t. ICP have a unique stage element (faygo) that tech ain’t ever tried to duplicate or replace. ICP always brought really intricate staging, something you would see at a big venue, tech mostly hasn’t.
Strange Music didn’t have to copy psy because the core of their businesses took standard business practices -things literally everybody was doing- and personalized them.

Check the numbers for anghellic sales in 2001 and tell me only a handful of people were supporting tech. Icp came to tech and asked him to tour. Tom dub attempted to get psychopathic involved with tech n9ne in 2002 but they refused bc he had a track with d12. Twiztid had tech on green book because juggalos had a petition to get him at the gathering. All before wicked wonka. You sound like a jaded ex girlfriend keep crying like a bitch. Strange music took elements from all of the successful independent labels at the time and did it better. Psy started 10 years before strange with 10 times the money behind it and now they are 20 years behind and millions of dollars behind. tech n9ne has never dissed them or juggalos. Should he have given more props during that interview? In my opinion yes. Should violent j have called him out like that? No.

Y’all really are taking what I’m getting at the wrong way. I give mad props to tech just like ICP did. Not at all saying he didn’t have an underground buzz before Juggalo exposure. I said myself Strange Music is on some other now compared to PSY. And I even admit there’s a good chance (way more then the almost zero chance Twiztid had) that he woulda blown up regardless, maybe even be a mainstream act. He is that fuckin talented, and fans are fans. Juggalos chose HIM because of his incredible talent, I’m not blind to this. But y’all are blind to not see that tech “learned the ropes” of the business so to speak from ICP/PSY/Subnoize, he saw what they did, watched closely and copied what worked, improved on what didn’t. And regardless what MAY have been considering his talent and hard work ethic, the specific route he took was supported mainly by Juggalos, especially in the beginning. Facts.

Wow what a shitty last few months its been for juggalos.
ICP and juggalos didnt make tech. Tech made tech. This fucking remember who made you shit is way old.
That being said, it is pretty clear he is uncomfortable any time its brought up. He has said he wishes more black people would bump his shit. Juggalos are white for the most part. He understandably wants to keep a respectful distance from juggalos while still giving them a nod when he is asked to. He clearly doesnt want to associate with juggalos.
I dont blame him. Dude owes us nothing.

ICP dissing all their homies over petty bullshit, begging for validation on radio shows and feeding propaganda to their fans to cover up their own lies.
Yall can hate on Tech and Twiztid drinking the cult leaders beverages all you want, but remember who’s feeding you the dope shit and who is feeding you the corny ass pop songs spending more time on hating people for their shine.
J sounding like Sharon Osbourn all of a sudden. “We made you! We made you!” The saddest and most insulting part is that you NEVER see this shit with other fans. Kanye don’t say he made Drake because they share fans. ICP does because they think they own you. They think you are property and they are trying to manipulate you. Thats why every time they go off on this shit they try to make YOU look like a victim and make it look like they are standing up for you. That they started all this bullshit drama for you. Funny, because yall didn’t gain anything from it. Yall lost Dark Lotus from it though.
I probably said this before, but if this is how juggalos act about shit then why the fuck would I want a juggalo for a fan? If yall think I’d owe you or juggalos for support then don’t support me. Support me as an individual that likes my shit, not as a fucking hive mind lead by clowns.

Not sure how you all came to first know who Tech N9ne was, but for me? It was this very website, way…way…WAY back in the day. I think around ’02ish….It was after Angelic, but before Absolute Power (or right before it was going to be released) I’m sure @scottied knows. I remember thinking damn who’s this crazy black dude with red hair straight murkin these dark beats!!? Then, of course, the Green Book verse. In which he exploded into the Juggalo universe.
But yeah, faygoluvers.net was who broke Tech N9ne in my eyes in those early Juggalo days.
