The ‘Family’ chant might help people make personal connections, since they may not have conventional families. I find it humbling, and when I’m surrounded by it I think it helps me get over myself.

its kinda strange, thinkin back to the first three or four tours i caught, that at the time, unless you did the icp chant [or possibly the chicken huntin chorus, but not necessarily], virtually all of those chants went nowhere.
many times, i remember someone starting the stomp chorus, and its only me and six other ninjas knew when to whoop.

it depends on what kind of mood im in if I chant back with the crowd but I always love the fam chants….the others can get annoying sometimes I agree. Juggalos are loud and proud.

i like it when, at the gathering usually, little groups of people start chanting whatever for whatever reason… and when they run into each other, they abruptly battle it out to see whos chant is more powerful.

There are times when the chanting seems way forced and I don’t do it but after an especially unique moment chanting is really the only thing that feels right. It’s either chant “family” or “hey, the vast majority of people here are all of the same mind state currently and would very much like to express this to you”, which I would very much like to hear attempted come to think of it.
At the only gathering I’ve been to I started a “gravel” chant at a seminar when the gravel truck came to do its thing. Good times.
