I was a teen when Milenko came out on hollywood and I was doing backyard wrestling as a serial killer clown and a friend was like “you’re a rip off of ICP” and I didn’t know who they were. He explained the gimmick of clowns rapping about the end of the world and I thought it was the dumbest shit ever. He gave me a tape with some songs from riddlebox and milenko and I was hooked. I remember getting banned from the library for accessing their website on their computers to find out when Milenko would be rereleased so I could get the full album. 

Something I’ve noticed is that “the new fans” are always making “the old fans” look bad. I think it’s because ICP appeals to a certain crowd on the surface. The “old” fans have stuck around and started to see past the surface but the “new” fans are still caught up in what the media presents ICP as. It doesn’t take long to get past the surface and usually people who are assholes drop the shit fast when they realize it’s not some cannibal corpse type violence but social commentary and cartoon violence. And then the next group, when they’re no longer teens, looks at these 13 year olds who are like DUDE THEY SAID BLUMPKIN LOL, and say how they’re making us all look bad.

I don’t get the “new juggalo” shit. Every Juggalo has been a new Juggalo at some point. I won’t speak to anyone else but when I first got into it I was a stupid little fucker. This was pre-Milenko but not by much. Right before the little MTV stint. I was really stupid. Like, fuck you if you don’t “whoop whoop” me back and you don’t deserve to listen to ICP type of shit. Eventually the dude that got me into them knocked me on my ass for acting like a bitch (my door into it was an old ass Juggalo that, originally, looked down on “new” Juggalos that had crazy hair and wore Tripp pants) and I toned it way the fuck down and figured it out. I’m willing to bet I wasn’t a rare case. At least some “old school” Juggalos went through that stupid phase where everyone needed to know they were a Juggalo, same as the “new” ones. The only difference is that the new kids have to deal with the hate a whole lot more, which sucks for them.

The people that think I’m immature for listening to ICP are the same people that admitted to listening to ICP because they thought they were funny.

And that’s the thing. I’m not immature, I’ve always liked ICP for the horror, great story telling and social commentary. They are the ones that only listened to ICP because they like to talk about their balls. Most people that are those types might have ‘grown out’ of the phase of listening to ICP but they still usually talk about their balls themselves.
