Second, my shitpost underscored the silliness inherent in the fact that even the most irrelevant topics here can devolve into a pig trough of politics and polarity as though it somehow impacts society at large (it doesn’t). What sense would it make to drop trou and pinch a loaf with the rest of the piggies if I’m not the one eating the slop? Cool bait tho.

I mean, there is really no inherit point in the shit posting on our shit posting, no point in telling us how useless and redundant these arguments are and it’s also uselessly redundant to point it out. Now this is a tune I can dance to. You’re absolutely right, shitposting about shitposting edges us ever further into the Shitpost Singularity, which is apparently the endgame to my AI overlords. In all seriousness, I do it because I can’t help but see the humor in it, and hope others do the same. I shitpost for a better tomorrow. That said, what you assume to be cowardice is to me more a matter of good manners- when these kind of rabbit holes open up it’s easy to forget that there very well might be people who wanna talk about J-webb for some fuckin’ reason. Lots of jigglas like myself juggle to get far the fuck away from things that smell of the trappings of the outside world, and socio-political concerns fall into that category, for me at least. So I could see how discourse like this, while fun for some, might not be fun for all.

But you said nice things and are a master baiter, so I’ll toss my hat in this ring just once: I myself am fundamentally always pro free-speech. Even hate speech. Yes, even the naughty, nasty, ugly, not-so-nice words. This is rooted in the fact that I am a lover of words- all words- precisely because of their power and potency. It’s why I’m a fan of rap. For better or worse, language is how ideas are communicated, and the stifling of ideas is something that is the dominion of the censor and the bureaucrat- certainly not something I hold claim to.

My precise view on this particular matter was expressed discreetly in the shitpost. This is an issue of polarity. To quote your actual question:

Even here we see two options. Black, and white. The thing is, nothing is ever truly black and white- anything that deals in extremes is typically unhealthy at a rudimentary level. There is a certain danger- a very limiting one- to believing that yours is the correct “way” no matter how the pie is sliced. Even if I’m personally the type of person who says what I wish whenever I choose, I recognize the importance of the 4C’s- consent, culture, courtesy and corrospondence, and how they relate to those powerful words. Not all do, and while I see freedom of ideas as a right belonging to the individual(by its very nature unstiflable, even if the language used to communicate it may be), I realise that this can be abused. So instead of further feeding the polarized argument, I’d rather provide thoughts that hopefully provoke a sense of commonality.

Eliminating hate is a noble pursuit. As is standing in defiance to oppression in any of its manifestations. 

Oppressed/suppressed people, and those who think of themselves as such, tend to congregate with those of like-mind. Typically the suppressed behavior continues in secret.

Language is a fluid, ever-changing and strangely subjective thing. Words are powerful, but much like money, belief precludes the effectiveness in the word. The great secret here is, the individual has the ability to change the meaning of the word, its application, and its potency. That is a matter of will, and cleverness.

The individual will never be controlled. The will to control the individual is an impulse of a collective.

‘The nail that sticks out shall be hammered down.’ And so it goes.

Clearly I don’t have the answers, so the most constructive thing I can do is urge people to think. 

So I took the bait and watched a few minutes of this guy’s dumbass video. There’s nothing unusual about requesting a recommendation letter when you leave a job. It’s a little old fashioned, but nothing out of the ordinary. This guy will grasp at anything to try and stir up some drama. It’s worth noting that J-Webb was laid off b/c he was a forward-facing member of the company for several years. But it doesn’t translate to an hour’s worth of content or conjecture. Then again, I’m the moron who wasted 10 minutes watching this dork smoke pot and try to talk tough. I have no problem with anyone trying to hold PSY accountable, but chuck reeves sucks.
