It’s to find a way to live a flawless life as a flawed human.
Your pursuit reminds me of the film “The Last Samurai” where a tribe is described as “From the moment they wake they devote themselves to the perfection of whatever they pursue…”
Life in every breath, LuckyNumbrXIII. Whoop to the mufukin Whoop.

I really don’t have anything in terms of material things or money, but I am very happy. I have no interest in accruing wealth. For me, it’s about enjoying life as it is. We don’t go to fancy restaurants or anything but we are able to have a good time eating White Castle.
And @luckynumbrxiii, do you really consider yourself a flawed human? I refuse to look at you like that. Whatever exists within you is just you. Not flawed, just you, just right. Not trying to guilt you into being happy with what you got, but accepting who you are and living as who you are. If that is someone who wants wealth, then be happy that you have that desire and not depressed that you aren’t there yet. That desire can be a great channel for doing great things which can lead to the financial security you seek. Embrace the desire and don’t let the worry of not being good enough paralyze you. I know it’s easier said than done, but as you start taking the steps towards channeling it, you will gain confidence through both your successes and failures.
Just remember that I am not a psychologist and never took a psych course in my life so it’s possible I don’t know shit about what I’m saying.
In the end, I believe you should never take life too seriously cause you will never get out of it alive.

I heard so many people say this “how could he be depressed with all that money” bullshit.
That’s more like, sorry to stereo type but, the redneck white trash type of mentality. Trashy T.V. is aimed towards white trash and white trash has that “I’m happy with what I have” mentality. Plus, making them feel as though they aren’t missing out on anything even though they are less wealthy makes them happier.
I think of it like this; money can’t buy happiness, but it sure does help. You have much more opportunity with money. Fuck all that trivial bullshit like fancy cars and jewelry and that shit. Money can buy you a trip around the world or an arsenal of instruments or a really really good hooker.

And I completely understand that whole thing where people guilt you for not being content, I highly disagree that our media forces that into our heads, but it seems that there is a section of society that tends to tell you that you have to be happy with what you have or you are ungrateful. It’s just bullshit. Ignore them and you might be a lot happier. If sipping budweiser in a double wide trailer while staying up to watch Jerry Springer makes you happy, cool. But don’t tell me that I’m wrong when I’m not content with that life style.
Plus, there is nothing wrong with wanting to feel financially safe, to get rid of the anxiety of how you are going to pay the rent this month.

Honestly, I think this whole “It doesn’t matter how shitty your life is, you should just be happy” thing is a brainwashing scam by people in charge to prevent people from realizing that things are waaaaaaay too shitty. It’s so they don’t have to worry about people demanding better treatment. That’s why all pop music is just songs about being happy and acting stupid.
Totally agree with this. That said, I think people can be happy to an extent, but still not content with where they are in regards to wanting to get higher up and make more money, etc.

This reminds me of the line from Psycho. It goes something to the effect of “I’m not buying happiness… just… buying off unhappiness.” Something like that, anyways.
