If Joe and Joey were teen masons, what youth group were they a part of allegedly then that was close to where they were living in their teens? I'm sure they are involved in it now, but what is the evidence they were involved when they were teens around the Dog Beats era? Where were they living as teens? What masonic lodges were nearby that also had youth groups? Like the Demolay youth? You are going to have to do some serious detective work and research in order to prove the likelihood that they were involved that far back.

I'm still not clear on where Joe and Joey grew up. Find out where they grew up, what city, town, county that was outside of Detroit. Or was it in Detroit? I'm still not clear. I never looked into the history of those two too much. Just their music. Find out where they were as kids and then find if there were any lodges nearby.

Background
The Shrine Clown Unit was started by 18 members in 1967. The unit has receives many requests for appearances at parades,parties and charitable events.This unit was the first Shrine Clown Unit to perform skits for the Shrine Circus. Throughout the years the unit has won many awards by members in both individual and group competition in makeup skits, and parade competition at the ISCA and GLSCUA Conventions..

Requirements
Membership in the Clown Unit is available to any member of Moslem Temple that is in good standing.

Cost
There is a $100 initiation fee to join and annual dues of $25 dollars. New members are encouraged to spend time talking to the members about the different type of clowns before purchasing a costume and makeup. Costume, wig and shoes vary in prices starting about $300 dollar and up.

Probationary Period
There is a six month period for a tryout and six months for an apprentice with attendance of 50% of unit functions.

Meetings
Our Units meets on the first Monday of each month, except July and August, at 7:00 pm for a business meeting and fellowship in our Unit Room at the Shrine Auditorium and Conference Center.

Activities
During the year we participate in parades throughout the Detroit area as well as picnics, parties and charitable events.

How to Join
Come to a business meeting at the Shrine Center; we meet on the first Monday of the month except in July and August. Contact the Unit Director or contact the Shrine Office at 248-569-2900.
