-On the Shangri-La album The Wraith has horns, but on the Hell’s Pit album, The Wraith is hornless. Why is this?
-Also, the way the wraith’s hands are positioned: Is the Horned Wraith trying to invite you into Hell, but you have to go past him to shangri-la, whereas the Hornless Wraith is trying to drag you out of Hell’s Pit into Shangri-La?
The answer comes right from the very heart of Psychopathic Records and it’s gonna flip your wig! Drumroll and phat beat please… here it is:
The Wraith that appears on the cover of the Shangri-La album is actually the Dark Wraith, and the Wraith on the Hell’s Pit album is the Wraith of Purity. What!?! Now reach up into the stratosphere and reclaim your wig, and sit back for the rest of the flavor. You see, “Nerdy” was pretty close in her guess. The Wraiths that appear on the two sides (and two albums) of the sixth joker’s card are actually two different beings. The Wraith with horns on the Shangri-La album is the Dark Wraith, and he is trying to keep you from making it to Shangri-La. That’s why his hand is palm up, he’s waiting to raise his arm, cup his hand, and pull you down. Furthermore, the bird on his shoulder is facing to the left–the path of darkness. In turn, the Wraith on the Hell’s Pit album is the Pure Wraith, and his hand is turned palm down, as he waits to reach down and pull you up, away from Hell’s Pit. His bird faces to the right, the path of goodness. So one of the Wraiths will appear to guide you to that final destination, but he’s actually got a goal of his own!

How does that explain this
I always thought of the wraith looking scary but once you put past the scary looks, like icp, its all enlightenment…like you cant judge a book by its cover type thing…also the “devil” tries to decieve people, so maybe “god” would do the same…ying/yang type shit
If yall died and saw two beings, one menacing looking and one “nice” looking, who would you go towards…maybe the “devils” last attempt to trick you into hells pit

There’s a saying, most likely derived from a biblical or other religious text, that says the road to hell is paved in gold, which most people take to be a warning against greed but I think it’s more like what you’re saying. It’s about enticing you.
The opposite road would be rough and rugged.

See i dont know shit about the bible except for what i heard “churchies” say and the bullshit rappers say. Im not well versed in any single religion…like tech n9ne said in the song “klusterfuk” i took all the bullshit religion offers, boiled it down and made my own perception about that “god” shit…i truely believe we are our own “god” on this plane of reality.

Wraith on Hell’s Pit cover is cooler lookin. Still ICP’s best CD Packaging/Booklet IMO
This is where i disagree, but i have a huge dislike of hells pit…its dope, but not as fr3sh as shangri la to me…im what people call a “light worker”, so i will always gravitate towards the good…plus there is too many songs on shangri la that hit me hard, like “we belong” that will sway my vote on the saga that was the original six

You guys are so dense. You need to transcend both pillars (paths) Boaz and Jachin (left and right). Hell’s Pit and Shangri La are not those paths. Hell’s pit is The Void, and Shangri La is the perfect balance, hence why in Shangri La you can still be wicked.

It’s all story telling and metaphor. Shangri La isn’t this or that, it’s all pathetic human attempts at understanding things that scare us. There is no path. It’s make believe.

If you look at the statue of Moses that Michaelangelo sculpted he has horns to represent when Moses’ face was shinning after being in the presence of god. I usually look at the Wraith: Shangri-la this manner and the absence of horns to be the Wraith in hell’s pit in the absence of god.
I’m definitely not a churchie person but I have done my fair share of studies.
