The Wraith on Shangri-La is actually the evil version of Wraith. The horns represent power and the crow is looking away from it as a sign that you don’t want to follow this being or something like that. It’s hand is reaching out in a manner to look like it’s to help you but it’s a trick to drag you to hell.

The Wraith on Hell’s Pit is holding it’s hand up to say stop don’t go this way. The crow is looking towards this Wraith as a sign you want to follow this one and it doesn’t have horns because it doesn’t need power to control you, it wants to guide you.

Anyway it’s something like that, I’m not sure if I can find the actual explanation word for word but that’s how I remember it.

I copped that Hells Pit album on release day as well as Shangri-La. I specifically remember seeing that the Hells Pit version didn’t have horns and it made the wraith look a little naked to me.

I also thought that the hand was done a little lazily… Its exactly the same on both, just one is rotated 180° from the other.

I seem to recall this was addressed in the seminar that was on the DVD that came with one of them.  I do remember hearing somewhere that the shangri la one was the evil one and the hells pit one was the cool one.

Dude, I have to show you love based strictly on your profile pic. I don’t know how that hasn’t occurred to me to do over the course of all of my overlapping years of being a Juggalo and a Hulkamaniac.

The REAL reason the Wraith’s horns are missing on Hell’s Pit was a massive printing error similar to the missing question mark on the booklet of the Riddle Box 20th Anniversary. They printed hundreds of thousands of those booklets and nobody realized it until it was too late so they made that paper slip cover to put over the jewel case to look nice on store shelves and they made up some back story as to why he suddenly lost his horns.

Great album though.
