i never heard that esham was supposed to be on lotus. that would have be ok, i guess. in a racist sort of way. because you know everyone who works with esham is either a slave owner or a klan member.
i remember reading in the newsletter at the end of one of the pendulum comics that the booklets for bizzar bizaar, tales from the lotus pod, and tongues would all contain pieces of a map that leads to the necronomicon. can’t remember if it said esham was in lotus tho.

When WICKED came out I remember thinking this is it, they’ll never be able to top this. As amazing as Abominationz was I still think they haven’t. Something about the beat selection and lyrical content put me in a dark place. WICKED is twiztids Hells Pit

As far as Marz goes, Lung Fu Mo She was pretty enjoyable. His lyrics weren’t great, by any stretch, but I did dig the industrial sound. Everything he’s done since has been hot garbage. Didn’t he recently put out an album called “Candy Days” which he was hyping up because it had no swearing?
His lyrics on TFTLP were at least passable, when he wasn’t talking about building spaceships with barbecue potato chips and rabbit shit and shoving fingers up his ass. Hell, I’ll take that over ABK dubbed in so badly that you can hear Marz in the background. His vocal delivery fit the mood of the album, as well, unlike the jarring lisp of ABK that’s never really fit Lotus in the first place.

Who is marz and why was he on lotus anyway? I feel like he came out or nowhere. First it was twiztids only, then twiztids and blaze, then esham. then when it came out it was this guy. Then a couple months later he’s psychopathic public enemy number two after eminem.
Ive read like a hundred stories and they’re all different. I forget does j go into it on behind the paint?

No swearing? Cute.
I love TFTLP but its like the first Rydas disc, Dumpin… in that I dont think J was taking the projects as seriously as he did later stuff. His direction for lyrical content is more jokey, wicked puns and shock value stuff than the occult stuff we hear now. Rydas and DL first albums had tons of that shock shit. His mom wont let him hit it, using his honeboys used rubber, etc…
On that note, i love the album. But the last two Lotus joints are the style I prefer.

Dumpin’ is really my favorite Ryda album, and I do think they were fucking around a little more on that one. I’m not reading it right now, but I’m sure the Jeckle Brothers booklet says something like that, being funny as hell.
And yeah, TFTLP, that’s why I like Black Crows and Black Magic best, I love the chants and all of that shit. I still love the whole album, but like I said, I haven’t heard all of Black Rain or Opaque Brotherhood, so I can’t favor it over them. There’s just so much music to listen to, so there’s still a couple Psy albums I haven’t heard yet, (except ICP, I’ve heard all of them, there’s prolly very LITTLE that I haven’t heard if that.)

Not knocking them, saying they are releasing trash now or anything, just saying I dont think they will ever top that release.
I don’t agree but I do like it a lot. I think it’s one of the better releases on the label. I think it’s basically perfect for what it is. Marz murders that shit and it sounds so dark and brooding and perfect. I just love it. I also really love Opaque Brotherhood and Mud Water Air and Blood (which I think is the best of Lotus).
Lotus is my favorite project on psy. Straight up. I don’t understand people who like Black Rain though. it sounded so lousy to me. I just can’t get into it. All of the songs sound like they tried to recreate the first album but failed miserably. And ABK just doesn’t work in the group. I used to really like him when he was in Krazy Klan and as Native Funk and here and there as ABK but just not on lotus.
And some ICP albums are fantastic and even though lotus is my favorite, I can’t say it’s always the best.

I was really hoping Esham would be in Lotus. They talked about it a lot. They talked about this concept that never panned out but they said Esham’s tongues, Twiztid’s Freekshow, ICP’s Bizzar Bizaar, and Tales from the Lotus Pod were all going to be linked in concept called the Necronomicon (the book of the dead). You can even hear references to Esham all over lotus and tongues has a few icp and lotus references.
You have no idea how hyped i was for a 5 album wide concept. I felt so let down. They even talked about it on lovelive a few weeks before the releases of all the albums. I was so mad when it wasn’t what they said lol.

it took me 15 min to figure out what TFTLP meant….
but on topic i did enjoy that one but i think they released alot of shit better than that. i’m also not the biggest fan of lotus in the world any way…
