I wish they would just drop the whole “shiny diamonds” gimmick for 2017. It’s obviously not. All these stale things that have happened over the past couple of months (especially) must have generated some really bad feelings within J and Shaggs. I wish they would just embrace those instead of ignoring it and acting as if everything is awesome. 2017 would be a good year for ICP to release some really dark music. If done right, real feelings can lead to some great (and honest) music. I’m sure Psy will have better years to come where all positive music would be more appropriate. Still wouldn’t be for me, probably, but at least it would be based on genuine emotions, rather than just forced.
This. A thousand times this. I said at the start of the year that the twatter war set a bad tone for the year and motherfuckers were acting like I had a dick growin’ out of my eyesocket for that, but I think the proof is in the poop stew at this point. I wouldn’t mind as much if there wasn’t this veneer of forced positivity all over the marketing for this year. That kind of ‘pay no attention to the man behind the curtain’ level of cognitive dissonance is the reason people grow to despise governments, let alone an entertainment outlet.
I think Juggalos would be cool embracing all the happy self improvement crap if it simply stayed grounded in life’s shitty realities. I said it before and I’ll say it again: Juggalos are yin and yang. You’re not gonna be able to bedazzle some graphics and make a few social media posts and say ‘Forget about the wicked shit for now.’ When the fact is the wicked shit is pretty much all we really want at this point.

This whole saga has really revealed how inherently misogynistic and vile Juggalos are and how the “family” thing was a joke the whole time, there’s no moral compass with Psychopathic Records and never has been.
Don’t hate her, have posted truth to power suggestions about some possibilities (What u gonna do, Becky? Keep whining, or learn something, or…) Not a fan of the weakass bitch shtick. An attempt to fix a problem rather than making it a fulltime job seems a better use of time. Maybe roll the dice & pick a fucking hotline, or join Fight Club, or…

Becky… have you ever tried to get the fuck up out your hole but fall right back inside? Once again, denied. Have you ever seen peoplease turn into the devil over money green? Tell me what it means. Have you ever been to the wicked part of town and would you go again? They don’t want you in. Would you follow me if I knew where it rains diamonds? No more poverty, as clean as we can be?

The whole shiny Diamonds, 17teenin, Hurricane Diamond year bs is just forced as hell. I know Violent J compares this year to 2002 and original raining diamond era, but the difference is that era wasn’t forced. It felt natural. We haven’t made it to April and the record labels been through the Young Wicked controversy, Twiztid beef, Blahzay Rose drama, Rudy Boy getting arrested, and issues with the March. I guarantee you next ABK will walk finally. I have no idea how he’s even still on Psychopathic. It’s a matter of time before he takes Big Hoodoo with him as well. It’s sad seeing Psychopathic fall apart. At least MNE feels like a fully functional vehicle. Signing Blahzay Roze has cost the record label alot. People barley liked her music and Violent J just forced her like WWE forces Roman Reigns, and he seriously thought “if Twiztid appears on her album they’ll love her?” Twiztid earned respect in the underground while Blahzay just dated Violent J!

To be fair, twiztid were barely known outside of Detroit. They weren’t underground champs. They were locals doing local level shit. They got brought up to the majors because they became homies with icp. Their relationship with j actually has a lot is parallels. People hated twiztid. They felt like twiztid was being forced on them. They thought twiztid were whack ass wannabes.

to be honest, I don’t think violent J ever thought “if twiztid did a guest spot for her the juggalos will all love her”. it’s more like “we need some big names on this to help sell some records and get more people to listen to her”.
the HARDEST PART of being an entertainer is just getting people to check your shit out. If only 17 people buy your shit you don’t even really have a toe in the door, let alone a foot, to start finding a fan base.
I do agree with you that J was trying to force the juggalos to accept blahzay and love her music, and that backfired. But getting big name people on albums has always just been a way to get more people to pick up the album. If twiztid did have a guest spot on the album more people might’ve picked it up and given her a chance. I doubt everyone who did would like her, but even if 25% of people who bought the album just for the twiztid spot liked it, that’s a start to building your base up. y’know?

You wanna talk about shoving people down throats. You couldn’t see icp live without sitting through twiztid. By the second twiztid album they already had multiple collabs and super groups. Twiztid were mentioned in every interview. Twiztid were in their music videos.
They didn’t do barely any of that for Blahzay, except what put her on the shiny diamonds and the psypher?
They announced the Blahzay Roze card from into the echoside months before they announced her as a rapper. They couldn’t put her on hoodoos album? Or jump on one song of hers?

I believe Hoodoos album had been recorded long before she signed. Asylum you could tell was kind of dated by the time it dropped. Sugar Slam did a few backing vocals and DJ Paul had guest vocals when they disappeared from Psychopathic a bit before Asylum dropped

I agree with you. Though I will say Twiztid I pretty much recall Mostastless only having ICP, Blaze and Myzery who where strictly rappers on Psychopathic and Blaze was extremely new around that point. Twiztid gained respect and artists like 3 6 Mafia, Tech N9ne, E 40 who were non Psychopathic and respected became open to working with them. To me the rap scene had always been about respect and what you’ve done and Blahzay had no respect points. So why would Twiztid have wanted to contribute? They probably met her once briefly at the Gathering but have no real connections or even know her personally. If she had proved herself maybe Twiztid would have performed with her on her next or 3rd album. The only artists I could have guaranteed would have appeared on her Full length album would have been the Psychopathic roster to help promote her work like you said sell some records and gain interest.

I dont mind artists using their pain to actually create their art. I dont mind if thats all the focus on. It helps people for a bunch of healthy reasons….
But..

I’m saying she might have stood more of a chance if they came out swinging like they did for twiztid. She coulda survived 4 years if they were pushing her as hard as they had with twiztid. Put her on their tracks, put themselves on her tracks, start a super group. Anything. They barely gave her time to catch her footing.

Yea, I think it was a little harsh how against her they were but that’s life.
Ultimately I don’t think she’s a good fit for PSY or MNE, although she should’ve had more time to grow on PSY – I kind of hate how PSY seems to have an ever growing pile of failed projects and artists that they never put much effort into.
That said, between g-mo, lex, and damned dirty apes, it seems like MNE is trying to recruit from the deep underground, not live off PSYs scraps
I know, I know. Blaze, boondox, young wicked. But they were tight with blaze and dox for awhile now. Young Wicked at least has talent regardless of your opinion on his music.
Blahzay I’d just kinda…blah. I see no reason for twiztid to pick her up and neither do they apparently.
