A Scanner Darkly was one of the rare times where I loved the movie but couldn’t stand the book.
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? is one of my favorite books but I think that it was an accidental classic by Dick. The guy has some good ideas in most of what I’ve read from him but the plot is usually the same. Large company bad + antihero = WHATAWTIST!
John Dies At The End (book and movie) are great. This Book is Full of Spiders isn’t too bad either (book). Especially the way it treats Limp Bizkit lol.

Havnt read that one yet but i read up on it lol. Im reading the man in the high castle not done yet. Its great “what if we lost ww2”. Alot of his stuff i noticed has to dual with dualities and split personalities. Not knowing wich one is wich. Yup one of the great underrated writers of all time. Never heard of the last one but ill look into it.

I have read some works by Crowley. I don’t have access to it right now because my books are stored away but I believe it’s called the Liber Al or something along those lines. I do know what magic is. I wasn’t taught to call the cops when I was a kid, I was taught to cleanse with white sage,(ineffective as any other magic) I knew Santa didn’t exist because my family celebrated Yule Lore, my mom has been practicing witchcraft most of her life (we bought a lot of salt when I was a kid). I do get it. It’s bullshit and my statement stands. Telling me you’re a bookworm (I, too, am comfortable with a book, although I fail to see your point with that. Just because I watch a lot of super hero movies doesn’t mean I’m a fucking superhero now does it?), saying I’m ignorant to the facts (again, I’m really not) and just saying it’s real isn’t going to change my mind. If you want to change my mind you know where my line is. Prove it. Do something magical and tell me specifics before they happen. Until then I’m going to continue assuming that you’re either suffering from confirmation bias (everyone does in one way or another so no attempt to insult. It’s impossible for humans to ignore all of it) OR you’re just bullshitting. But, like most others I’ve encountered with magic (fuck your “k”) I’m sure you’ll say “that’s not how it works” if you say anything at all so

@whutuptho , maybe you can help us out here. Give us examples of “magick” working for you. Run us through the process and how you came to the conclusion of it’s effectiveness.
I am a non-believer in such stuff. If there is something I want, I dedicate my will to it’s accomplishment till I get it. I personally don’t call it magic. I call it dedication to a cause to produce a desired effect. If it doesn’t occur, it is either I didn’t try hard enough and/or the task was impossible within the timeline I was willing to dedicate. And even Crowley said you have to use action as per The Book of Law which “which urgeth constantly to action”. Sounds like the same thing I or anyone else does to accomplish something.
When Aleister Crowley failed in Magick, didn’t he contribute it to his desire not being in line with the natural order of things? So the universe not aligning with his will was just the universe being what it is and not being bent by whatever he wanted. “by that Light; let the Magician then argue that his folly is part of the natural order which worketh all so well.”
I just don’t see this Magick as being any different than what I would call simply part of life.
Anyway, I would like to hear of your experiences since I know of no one else who can call themselves an active practitioner and it is difficult to find good information on the internet due to many different beliefs on the subject all vying to say everyone else is wrong and they are right.

Some people feel witness that that will comming from ur chest, stomach and mind come from and go to diffrent places. And can do different things. Im not much help i was a Catholic boy turn diehard atheist that would talk to his dead friend thru the trees and changed the future acording to his body movements. So my beliefs contradict and collide. Call me flakey or week but i think if u dont have these contradictions when u look inside to see or find ur spirituality then ur looking in the wrong place. Even if u had these beliefs all ur life and ur 50.
Where ur will ends and ur fantasy begins to me now is just as far as u wanna take it. My conscious thoughts alone affect my body physically.
I used to feel very negativly(to say the least) of ppl that werent straight up atheist. I can see now each life is very fulfilling and has slot of things wrong with it but both if lived right are very magical. RANT.

There is no right or wrong its all an experiment to find yourself it is the reason for magick. Not at all. I am all for the quest of knowledge in all forms. I just don’t understand it in the way you do. I think we do the same thing but you have a mind that can think in ways that mine does not. And to go with what works until it doesn’t is good advice for anyone.
You are probably right in not trying to bring it up. It’s like the creationists vs evolutionists debate. They speak different languages and will never understand each other.

We’re just finding different answers to the same questions. You’re making a claim, I’m saying to prove it. You don’t want to prove it or say that it doesn’t work that way, we agree to disagree and move on. If you get that huffy over something when someone questions it, you might want to take a step back and ask yourself why you’re getting so aggressive. Relax. This is an internet forum.

Shit, I loved the creationist vs evolutionists debate that happened on here. At least the one I jumped in on. Usually I just read posts and comment rarely but there was a lot of solid questions/answers that I had to say shit about. There was definitely some tempers flaring but that’s with any/everything. I don’t know how many people switched sides from it but at least there was some that was thinking and reading up on it at the end. Which is cool. If anything, I’ve been disappointed in the lack of sensitive subjects like that on here.
