Just saying man besides in and out of juvenile. I had a drunk abusive dad. Went to an almost all black school where I had to defend myself daily and get called the bad kid for it. Watched my two oldest brothers get shot in front of me and die. Was shot myself at 14. Stabbed multiple times. Robbed for a soda and pixie sticks then smacked in the melon with a curling iron by some fat bitch that decided to rob the salon/hair supplies place next to the Sinclair.

Sold drugs(I say drugs because I would sell anything the big guys told me to for a little cash to buy some fucking top raman) because my drunk ass father never spent any cash on groceries.

Slept at friends houses or drug dealers houses on the floor because I didn’t want to go home. Busted my dad open with a snow globe. Got shot at by my own dad.

You know I could actually go on…but hopefully you get the point. Not saying you didn’t have a harder youth. You may have…rape victims in my opinion had it worse then me for sure. I would go through all that again rather then be raped. I am simply saying I went through ALL this in Ferguson/St.Louis area. Shit ain’t changing and it will only get worse not because of cops but because that culture is fucked beyond belief. 90% of the people there need to be executed straight up it is a fucking shithole and I would off myself before living there ever again.

I haven’t checked up on this thread as I’ve forgotten about it. I applaud you for having empathy for rape victims, because I agree that as hard as you and I have had it, the trauma that I’ve seen and can envision from others being raped is beyond comprehension. Shit is the most wrong act conceivable. 

I head-butted my dad many years back, and now he told me that the doc said he won’t be able to taste soon anymore. I headbutted him because he was treating my mentally ill brother badly, and he was drunk…. at age 10, I got into another fight with that same brother over nothing, and I swung an axe handle (it didn’t have the head on anymore) at him, and my dad felt that using weapons is the lowest form of pussy fighting ever, so he punched me in the nose, breaking it. Blood would NOT stop dripping out lol.. faucet-style. So he busted mine, I got cold revenge years later and busted his, big deal. Just a good story. We get along good now.

I’m sorry about your older brothers. As you’ve probably read, mine were both killed, too. We have so much in common, baby! lol it sucks when this is all we have to bond over.

It wasn’t all bad, fuuuck no. My dad sobered up when I was born, for like 13 years. For the first time in his life. His dad gave him alcohol in his bottle to shut him up, so it def wasn’t easy. Unfortunately, he’s been back to drinking since he got divorced, and now he’s remarried and still drinking. Thankfully just beer and wine, no liquor. . he told me plain and simple, after Beau and Jesse died: “your child dies; you drink.”. I can’t deal with what he and my mom have gone thru. As much as I bitch, and as many stories as I have to tell….. their struggle is worse. No parent should outlive their child. Ever.

But yes, we had mostly a great childhood. Grew up in a shack until age 7, but we didn’t know we were poor. We had fucking Jordan’s. I didn’t even ask for em, but my mom supplied. The farmer that used to live across the road gave us steaks and burgers for our meat freezer. We ate well at times. Never got to travel much, but that was something I got to do on my own as an adult. With my soulmate wife. And then with my awesome daughters.

Went from being homeless at times, always broke either way, working as things like janitor, to selling weed legally. Life is wacky.
