Friends used to bump "Pocket Fulla Fat Caps" by downset, but I never got into it.

Vanilla Ice does okay rap/rock, slightly hokey. His drummer is talented.

Beastie Boys can be considered rap rock, not exactly the kind that we're all referring to though.

I'd hardly qualify Esham too, He only had like a few rock/rap songs on that album.

Crib Death was dope though.

i dont really know what qualifies as rap/rock to you.. i just know the vast majority of both of those albums are heavily laden with rock samples.. im just sayin.. its harder to claim "devil without a cause" as rap/rock then when half that album sounds produced by esham..

DWAC wasnt samples at all. He has an actual band. I dont listen to esham but im gonna go out on a limb and say their production sounds nothing alike. Maybe you can post an example?

lol well that was easy the song "devil without a cause" has damn near the exact same sample from "making more music" plus it opens with a ominous beat & that style of singin.. cmon on man.. thats Esham's shit... lol after reading again i guess you wouldnt know haha still tho its been documented they were cool back in the late 80s all the way up to the mid 90s haha..

what does 'damn near the exact same sample' mean?  either its sampled from the same song, or it isnt.

i dont remember any rock samples in particular from makin more music.  at any rate, theres a big difference between making music with a rock sound, and stealing someone elses rock sound.

well a sample can be flipped in many ways.. i was simply saying they flipped the same sample (maybe rock's band replayed it)... and that it wasnt flipped identically.. but very similarly...

Limp Bizkit. I dont fucking care how much if a douche fred durst is, you simoly can't fuck with their chocolate starfish album. Linkin Park fucked it up when they did it. And korn's early rap rock shit is fucking certified gold. "Play Me" is probably one of the best examples of rap/rock done right. Just my thoughts, I didn't live through the era but my parents were huge into korn, limp bizkit, linkin park, etc. so I grew up listening to shit like that.

holy fuck this makes me feel old..haha

Maybe he did bite it idk. They bit metallica for the 'american bad ass' track. But just because they both have a similar porn guitar vibe going on doesnt make it the same. If you listen close you can definitely tell a difference. Like I said though, maybe they changed it up a bit and made it their own.....Which is probably the exact same thing esham did when he made it.

There are only so many sounds and riffs you can make, which is why rappers like lil jon(how dare he butcher crazy train)and eminem jack classic tracks and rap over em cuz at this point most of it has been done before

Definitely Rage did it right.Korn was the first band that got me in to rap/rock or whatever.I was also the Korn Kid in High school.I was all about that shit back in the day.Limp dick and linkin park are embarrassing imo.But I did like 2 dollar or 3 dollar bill album when that came out but I cant stand them anymore .durst voice is like nails on a chalkboard.

Korn and PM5K I got into years ago. Beastie Boys too, they come off as a little rap/rockish. Korns sound is always changing and I haven't been into them since Untouchables was released.

i hate the terms "bite", "jack", & "steal" when it comes to sampling.. This is hip hop..hip hop music was literally created from sampling.. shit just comes across as mad disrespectful to the culture i love.. idk maybe im just a nerd who takes this shit too serious but damn haha.. & personally id say rock was inspired by E not that he bit him.. just like icp, rock did his own thing with e's inspiration imo..

im thinkin that perhaps you being a rapper who never owned any of the beats you rapped on may have something to do with it.

PM5K's the shit. I dig their industrial sound, but their pre-platinum funky rap metal shit is my favorite.

White Zombie's La Sexorcisto has a dect rap/rock vibe, and I consider (hed)P.E.'s first three albums classic.
