Dont feel sorry for me Mr Lock let them kids of the next gen like new rap and call my shit “nostalgic” and “dated” I DGAF…I like jamming the fuck outta plenty of other genres of music to where I’m not bothered or “feeling sorry” that there are barely a handful of new rap artists every 10 yrs I feel are worth giving a fuck about.

Bout all I truly care about are psy and twiztid. I enjoy strange artists, but not enough to buy their albums. Especially at 20 fuckin dollars, i’m sorry tech you’re not THAT good. But I digress. I fucks wit quite a few underground artists, bukshot in particular atm, but I’m perfectly content with my collection consisting exclusively of psy albums and whatever shit twiztid puts out. That’s all I listen to.

All appreciate them when they stop following the same cookie cutter styles and stop sounding like stale ass

I gotta say, I don’t care much for Kendrick Lamar, however hearing Cassidy and Joel Ortiz rip him the fuck up on their responses to Control was a much needed breath of fresh air in a very stagnate atmosphere. The Cassidy and Joel Ortiz tracks are definitely worth a listen from anybody who enjoys Hip Hop and good lyricism.

@mentalcaseproject A comparison based on my opinion can’t be “way off”. As far as you know, my ears perceive sound so differently that my brain might not be able to differentiate between the two at all, while to you they sound totally different. So eat me.

@mykal86 The only rappers I’ve heard that I care about at all in the past few years have been Hopsin, Basedgod, Roach Gigz, and Danny Brown.
Last rappers I actually cared about before that shit was Doom and Madlib. A fuckin decade ago.

Have you heard anything by Earl? I don’t see how you could like Doom and not like Earl. I mean the kid was spitting fire at like age 14

You know what really irritates me? When someone says “I like all music except ‘X'”. It is usually country. All I can think when I hear that is “You are completely shutting yourself out from a lot of good songs because of a genre barrier”

I bet those people can find at least ONE song from the genres they say they hate that they would bump like a motherfucker.

Earl is dope but his new album disappointed me personally…with all the hype n stuff around him I figured he would go all in but it comes off feeling like a bunch of songs thrown together…plus his ‘bored’ way of flowing gets old after a while…IMO Tyler the Creator (say what you will about his rapping and personality) can put together better overall albums…Bastard, Goblin, and Wolf all have some great cuts on them and they flow from start to finish really well

I love Earls lyricism and wordplay, and I love Tyler’s emotion. That’s why I am hoping earlwolf will drop an album.

the hive video you posted wasnt older Earl just released that like maybe 2wks ago. anyone who fucks with odd future needs to go to datpiff n download No Idols from Domo Genesis. i never used to pay him any mind then i checked his solo shit n got blown away. All of OF is quite amazing to me its a collective of hella young niggas with a lot of diverstity. rock rap RnB ignorant shit hip hop all that shit.

frank ocean is definitely one of my favorite artists out n tylers hella talented

only prob i have with earl is the way he sounds bored rappin like the homie up there said his lyrics are dope though

and to the dude that said brotha lynch would eat up kendrick(no pun) you either never have listened to kendrick or when you did listen you had ear plugs in. The control verse he put out was NOTHING NEAR his best work dude knows how to spit. Brotha Lynch is my dude but all he is is a gimmick rapper these day. I listen to him when i wanna hear weird shit thats it. Kendrick has better beats, delivery, lyrics, skills, and a much wider vocabulary. blh would never last in a battle. blh got a twitter cosining with Kendrick and sayin how hes good for hiphop

When I put older Earl, I meant it literally that he was older in the video lol. I guess that was poor wording.

Also, am I the only one who got tired of Hopsin?

When Raw came out I was diggin it, then he got all holier than thou and for some reason it just killed it for me. Couple on the fact that he hasn’t released shit for a couple of years and he said he didn’t care about rap anymore…

Ya got me misquoted that wasnt me not a Doom or OF fan I did list the few rap acts that have been worth checking IMO. But thanks for sharing that. I agree whole heartedly about your genre statement open your ears folks.
