  Man I live in VA and spent a lot of my childhood exploring Civil War battlefields and have always idolized Robert E Lee as one hell of a general and actually pretty interesting dude.  I even went out into the woods of Chancellorsvillle to find the spot where Stonewall Jackson’s men accidentally killed him.  Other then that Gettysburg, Antietam, Mannassas, Fredricksburg, all have had weekends spent hiking and exploring.  

   

  That being said its not disputable the Confederate flag in that incarnation is a symbol of hate and segregation.  If people decide to wear that and consider it the southern heritage they want to represent (it is part of the south’s heritage) then let them wear it like badge of blissful ignorance.  I mean sure itd be like someone who lived in the north east wearing a shirt with a flag representing child labor in sweatshops…, or a Californian repping a flag with a railroad surrounded by dead Chinese corpses…its more of a troll on the person wearing it then any “statement” they are trying to make. 

   

  That being said banning a flag is asinine.  It accomplishes nothing.  If people want to rep that their ancestors proudly owned and murdered people thats their own foolish decision.

the swastika is a funny one. in the western world we associate it with hitler, but in eastern (and others, but for the most part eastern) religions is has quie a deep meaning and has been around a VERY long time

as i said, its in the numbers, i know that most people waving that flag are jut ignorant. but that doesn’t take away the past.

and as for only one person killing over the flag…. only one person actually went ahead. how many clan rallys or white supremacy movements sat underneath that flag last year and talked about ending the immigrant issue in america? that to me is jsut as bad.

But, as for the flag, a lot of people around here fly it. I’m friends with a couple of them, no one can agree on EVERYTHING. So it’s whatever. I’m not gonna be waving it, but I could also care less.

I grew up on that shit. My dad was listening to it before he could speak English. I was kinda quoting very badly ganja. But then i grew up and i realised what shit ment. I guess i hate thinking in such plain terms. Good bad. I dont even think about them and that flag when i hear sweet home Alabama. I think about being a kid. U know what i mean? Then i read shit like this thread and say goddammit rhey dis have that fucken shit everywhere. And goddamit it fucken sucks that some los got it all twizted. Then im like fuck here i am judging and shit and not being tolerant. Kinda of the shit that got me mad in the first place. And here i am.

The Canadian Cannabis flag is getting more and more popular up here as a replacement to our official flag, you see it everywhere on Canada Day, and other holidays-
