Great, but I started a thread specifically about proposed rule changes during that time, and that was while the voting was still active.  Did something change?  Because it’s odd that you would be so opposed to making any kind of changes to the rules, but now you’re into it.

Didn’t see anything productive from your end on that one, chief. But I did get a nice hilarious cervical cancer joke from your wife which was completely called for and on topic.  

I am the one that suggested rule changes and that discussions should be had. We (mods/admins) have taken those into consideration while exploring/researching what has worked for other sites given the nature of this site.  I had already proposed what rules I wanted added/changed to Scottie and felt I didn’t need to muck up any conversation about it so that we could get a better idea what you guys wanted. We specifically used your thread for input along with some PMs we have received.

This is all taking place now because the timeline for the site revamp is coming up faster than I realized. The intention was originally for just adding one moderator for night time spam but as the discussion grew, it re-ignited the need for rule changes. This re-ignited internal discussions of moderator rule enforcement. I had not envisioned the direction would take from the onset but the direction it has taken is necessary as we move towards the “new decade”.  Yeah, we may be a bit behind but we will get there. 

To hide bonesaws original proposal and try to take the credit?

I may be wrong but I really though I suggested the rule changes… Well to be correct, @Cheshyr did. Before that @Scruffy did.

Now let’s take up part of issue that @cheshyr mentioned. The rules of the forum. If members feel that the rules need to be changed, then that is something productive that we can discuss. @scruffy has suggested in the past that we may need to revisit the forum rules and what mods are allowed to do for violations. If others feel this needs to be discussed, then let’s do it.

If you want to do it, maybe General Discussions. @scottied would have to weigh in on it too since it would be him than determines what powers the moderators have to enforce any purposed rules.

It doesn’t matter the exact reasoning,  since “supposedly” moderator capabilities are about to have some dramatic changes….which leads me back to my original point I was getting at on this thread.

(kinda funny how this thread went from not so serious, just looking to add a MOD…and now it’s that we will be having major changes to MOD capabilities…and still adding a new MOD)

Thank you for speaking your mind. Please know that your concerns and thoughts are not un-noticed by ScottieD. We decided not to remove any mods since the reasoning for their absence was something that we needed to address as moderators/admins and remedied on our end.

We are going to be utilizing ideas proposed by many different members. As of today, I have already started setting some of these things up (things suggested by @noah-fence) and we will see the results hopefully within a week. This will not be the new forum being designed, that will come afterwards when the developers finish it up. Considerations will be taken from suggestions and post made by many of you. Bonesaw, Bozodklown, Cheshyr, King Lucem Ferre, Warlock, Slumerican, Donald Trump, Noah Fence, Chuklz, Karacalla, Old Mr Dangerous, Ganja Goblin, Krunkazphuk, Miklo Velka, David_Black and you Spooky. I am probably missing a many names but the point is we have many ideas from what you all have posted.

You may not trust me on this but I really thing you will like what is coming around the corner. If you don’t trust me, then hopefully you will stick around to see.

Seriously, man.  I’m not that stupid.  

As I said in the thread that spawned it, I wanted you to do it for optics. Since I was under criticism for my moderation duties, I felt I should stay out of it.

You should know that a lot of what we will be incorporating in changes came from your posts. You brought a light to a lot of issues and helped kick start something that we should have taken care of a long time ago. Even though it has taken us this long to get to it, (something I think will be expedited much quicker now) you should be given credit (most of it) for kicking (or maybe RE-kicking) the whole thing off.
