From the start of the kkklown account, many have had an issue with his name, profile pic, and ramblings. If the majority votes does it not justify an action? If i get modship and get several messages of unhappiness or what have you, i will do something about it. This place needs some real caring. That’s what i wanna do is care and see it grow.
Edit: check my logged on hours. Im here a boatload of spare time, all hours of the day. Wake up to pee in the middle of the night, ill check on this place. Theres too much crap and our mods are neutered, its lame. Seems like nobody cares.

While that seems great, we need to have distinct rules that dictate mod action, no interpretation. We cannot delete someone due to mob consensus or just people being unhappy.
Scottie and I have already discussed that the person(s) brought on as moderator(s) will be included in a Forum Rules rewrite along with all other moderators. Scruffy has some very valid issues with some things that can be solved by definitive rule rewrites with ability to effectively enforce these rules.
It looks like the mods will be more than just spam janitors in the future but they will still be constrained by the rules and cannot make decisions based on mob consensus or people being unhappy.

That sounds amazing in theory. I understand the mob idea, but come on man… There should be a clause of justification. Its completely non-juggalo, even tho all of the words are juggalo. Hes a conundrum and should have been dealt with by our mods combining heads. Its all about the community and greater good type deal.

Again, like most forum moderators on other sites, there is no pay.
And if we adopt some of the rules that many other forums have, your account and posting behavior would trigger disciplinary action. Most forums have a “No All Caps” clause. They also have a soft limit of the amount of new post or replies that can be posted within a designated time frame. Many have rules against having user names and profile pics that are racially offensive. While we are a Juggalo forum and what is considered offensive is not as strict as others, I am pretty certain that your user name and avatar pic will not be acceptable under the new rules that will be adopted and the moderators will have the authority to take action.
My suggestion is to change your posting behavior to not use all caps and reduce the amount of posts per session. Change your user name and avatar pic soon because we may even adopt some rule changes before (within the next few days) the new moderator(s) are in place.

You’re wording of this really downplays the issue at hand with it. It wasn’t like we were forced to vote somebody off the island. It annoyed enough people that there was a vote with very definitive results. That’s not “mob mentality.” That’s “people sharing the same opinion.”

I would have been on board with it back then if we had distinct rules to allow me to do something about it. I will not go against the stated rules due to public opinion even if I agree with that opinion. Without the rules and only based on public opinion, what would stop me from inviting a bunch of my friends onto the forum and voting out all the people I don’t like. (I would never do that. I do not want to open the door for that type moderation)
We are going to be adjusting the rules. There are things that have been allowed that will no longer be allowed and moderators will have the ability to handle these things. We still won’t be able to go outside of the scope of the rules.
I completely understood your reasoning behind your thoughts then and now. I even agree with the underlying ideas you presented. I am confident we can come up with a system that will fair and not too draconian.

Krunk wears the pants at home doesnt she? Its ok you can admit it.
Mandy wears them most of the time when she’s home. But as soon as she leaves for work i crack an extra beer and deal with the consequences after. She hasnt left or demodded me.
Its not always about following the rules, its about doing what feels right. We live on a road with almost no traffic. We have 2 stop signs to go 2 blocks to her dads house. I dont think weve stopped for them in the 6 years that weve been here. Same with red lights at night and no cars are around, my ass is going thru them.
Do you follow all the safety codes at work? Hard hats, hair nets, steel toes?

Great, but I started a thread specifically about proposed rule changes during that time, and that was while the voting was still active. Did something change? Because it’s odd that you would be so opposed to making any kind of changes to the rules, but now you’re into it.

I will abide by the rules when it comes to my job. I do not break the rules when it relates to my duties here or at work. I am not going to go by what “feels right”. People generally feel that the earth is flat and from our point of view all our senses tell us we are at the center of the our universe. We “feel” like we are mainly stationary and not travelling through the universe at 375 miles a second toward the Virgo Super Cluster. Would you trust everyone’s feelings that you meet? Who determines who’s feelings are right when they are contradictory. That is why we have rules.
