I’ve been thinking about the state of music nowadays, 99% of what I hear is just bullshit even from people who are lorded as “Bringing rap back” they just make the same stuff as everyone else.
Does anyone know any artists who still kick truth and talk about real issues?
I made this talking about us as a species and things wrong with us.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGH-SugZtis
While this may be a shameless plug for my new music video, it’s also a genuine discussion I wanna talk about anyone’s thoughts on the music video, humans as a species or just the fact that only a small percent actually talk about real shit or bring anything unique to the table. So let’s get this shit started.
Much Love.

we listen to music purported to be coming from clowns that kill people in the name of bringin us to god.
‘realness’ dont really enter into it. if anything, realness is what we are escaping.

U also said “state of music” but seems like your specifically talkin bout rap. Try broadening your horizons there is good shit out there.
Also depends on whut u mean by “real”. Real sad, real gangster, real positive, real truth or conspiracy truth, etc. Anything can be real i5s just how you look at it

Kendrick Lamar, Lupe Fiasco rappers rap about what’s real to them most of the time. Listen with unbiased ears.
I gave kendrick a shot but he not for everyone. Hence why you said to use an unbiased ear. He is tryin to spread a good message, but only towards the black race. He seperates himself from other races, and thats the type of shit thats wrong wit the world. If he learns to speak in a general sense ill prolly like him more.
Although dizzy kinda speaks towards his race, if you wrote his lyrics on paper, it would look like he is speaking to the whole world.
Dont give in to the divide and conquer tactic

I don’t feel that way at all about Kendrick. Kendrick speaks on issues about his culture. I feel as though him trying to uplift a culture that has been stuck so low is more then spreading a broad message. It’s like the whole anti black lives matter thing. The reason why we have black lives matter is because we need to be reminded that black lives matter. Black lives matter and Kendrick Lamar are not anti white or trying to separate them selves from the rest. It’s just that they have issues that we can not relate to. I don’t fear cops for shooting because I’m white. I don’t fear klan members hunting me down because I’m white. I don’t feel like white people are pushed into communties the set them up to fail. I don’t feel like I have a bunch of negative outlooks pushed down my throat by society. I also don’t come from a history of white people being treated like shit so I don’t have that same distrust or paranoia that comes with it. I understand that you want to be color blind so you judge individuals based on how they individually act, which is good, but the moment you become color blind you fail to see an issue. You see a bunch of cops shooting a bunch of people which is bad enough. But you don’t see that it’s a bunch of white cops shooting a bunch of black people so you’re not seeing the whole story.

Fyi the statistics for this year is that there has been 500 police shootings this year. Only 20% of the suspects were black. That means they are the minority, yet they seem to blow it out of proportion. #AllLivesMatter

FYI black people only make up 13% of the population white people make up 72%. (Still)
I got a number of 532 people killed by cops 261 were white and 136 were black. Now this is why I laugh at people that say algebra isn’t important.
There are 5 times more white people in american than black people but the murder rate is just under twice the amount. Now lets round it up for your shitty arguments sake and say that it’s twice the amount. 5X more white people in american than black but only 2X more white people are killed than black people. Subtract 2 from five and black people are 3X more likely to get shot in America.
Now question is, are you really that dumb or do you cherry pick the facts to dismiss an actual problem? Just like all lives matter doesn’t actually care or do anything when innocent people get killed by cops they just start posting to dismiss black lives matter which actually does care and get active even when white people get killed by cops. NVM, I don’t care about your answer.
That’s why I said, I get not wanting to see things by race but when you don’t see race it’s just a bunch of people getting killed by cops, which is still bad, but it’s normal. When you can see race you notice there are a bunch of white cops killing black people in a country that has a strong history of white people killing black people. If you don’t see this problem then you are choosing not to see this problem which only contributes to the problem and what makes it even worse is that you keep trying to cover up or dismiss the problem.
Wait, let me just disprove any other bullshit you’d throw out before you get the chance. Slavery didn’t happen that long ago, segregation didn’t happen that long ago, there are people still alive that experienced the Tuskegee experiments so no it’s not something that happened a long time ago in the past.
It’s also not a white guilt thing because if you did not participate then you should not feel guilty, it’s a problem that needs to be addressed. You don’t feel guilty about being an adult when other adults rape children, so why would you think this is black people trying to guilt trip or blame every white person out there?
Irish slaves did not exist. That is a flat out fucking lie people bring up to dismiss the problem. I know, I’m Irish and I looked it up. We were sold into servitude, but we were still free, we could still vote, we weren’t raped or whipped or murdered for marrying non irish white girls, the most we got was being called ‘irish slaves’ to insult us by comparing us to black people. It was not literal slavery, it was a racial term meant to demean Irish people by comparing them to black people.
And the statistic that says that black people commit more crimes only proves that black people are convicted of committing more crimes. It does not take into account how many innocent black people could have been set up or how many white people were let off or how many black people were investigated compared to white. In fact, don’t the statistics also show that black people get harsher sentences?
I mean, not a damn thing is being blown out of proportion here, just a bunch of denial and sweeping shit under the rug, which I just don’t get. If you got bed bugs and you try to ignore the bed bugs the bed bugs won’t go away, they just get worse because you didn’t do shit about the bed bugs.

In my opinion part of the problems minorities have with crime rates is how they are raised JUST as much as profiling. But what do I know. I only worked with minorities and under privileged kids my whole professional life so far.
The mindset in many impoverished and minority strong communities is to just “give up”. The welfare statistics show it.
38.8% of all welfare recipients are white (Actually a low number considering the population of whites in America)
39.8% are Black (Considering blacks make up 13% of the population this is a lot)
15.7% are Hispanic (Not sure what I think about this number many light skinned Hispanics identify as white very often on their tax forms from what I have seen when my wife does peoples taxes so this number may be off)
2.4% are Asian
3.3% Identify as other minorities
This is only the tip of the iceberg of problems minorities face. The culture needs to change. A HUGE part of it is the way they are
brought up.
As for crimes, once again the culture. The way they are brought up contributes to the issues. Now of course many would get off or a slap on the wrist if they could afford decent lawyers but that is not the reality for impoverished minorities.
However I think it goes deeper then just that. I think these newer generations of all races have a HUGE respect issue.

I think that the crime rate has more to do with preconceived ideas that people have of black people so they are more likely to be seen as criminals, treated as criminals and investigated as criminals in America. I don’t think black people are more criminal than white people. I think all people are criminals.
I don’t think the problem is just with black culture, I think it’s with American culture. It’s in America that we have these problems.
Also, back onto Kendrick, if you really think Kendrick is only speaking for black culture that’s because it’s what you choose to hear and you are listening with biased ears. How Much A Dollar Cost? That song is really deep and extremely relevant to American culture especially with our liberal mind set of I earned what I got, quit begging and earn yours. He doesn’t even take a full stance, it’s just him wondering if he actually did the right thing when not giving a homeless guy a dollar. Or Swimming Pools, where he tries to dissect the reasons why we really are drinking and how self destructive people can be with it all masked as a party song. Kendrick is a god damn Genius that anybody with a working mind can appreciate. His intricate way of putting things together the way he does with such profound meanings and positive intentions is on a level far beyond most of his peers. It’s why I consider Missing Link Found to be a complete fucking joke of an album. It’s just flat out corny poppy bullshit with no real deep or profound uplifting message to it. Which, I shouldn’t expect anything as cerebral from ICP, but they did used to have profound ideas in their music. People thought I hated it for being ‘positive’, no I hated it for sucking I didn’t hate Shangri La. Truth is I actually truly wish I could be a Kendrick rather than a King Gordy, but I’m not.

The one issue is. In high minority areas there is generally high minority numbers in the police force. It would be like that Dave chappelle skit where the blind black guy led the kkk.
For instance let’s take Baltimore. OK, it is 67% black if I remember right? The police force has only 4 full time white cops.
Marlin a small town near me 6K people. 72% black. No white cops yet the crime rate is twelve percent higher on petty and three percent higher on violent crimes then Waco a town 20X it’s size.
Do you think people profile their own race? If so we have an even bigger issue man. Like some sort of self hating psychosis.
Now I do think profiling happens. But not near as much as saying if it stopped minorities would not be as prominent as they are in the criminal scene.
I have seen many blacks who don’t get in trouble with the law. Most are educated some are just good people that you will never see roaming around at night.
Education is no excuse in texas. Blacks get full scholarships period here. With cost of living if they know where to look.
That leaves profiling or a culture issue. Profiling I could get behind IF the numbers were dramatically different between law enforcement make up. But they are not.
This whole blame this person, blame that person crap is childish. When I got arrested I blamed myself not the three black officers arresting me.
