Did a couple searches and didn't see any threads like this. Figured I'd make one because I want to vent and it's not something I normally do.
Got hit with a 2nd DUI back in June of this year. I had just wrapped up everything with my 1st (which didn't result in any convictions, just the D & A program). Was recouping cheddar back in my pocket after how much the first cost me, feeling better in general and putting it all behind me, and exactly a year later, BAM!, wrong place wrong time.
Got stopped for speeding, 60 in a 45. My fiance was drunk so they automatically assumed I was. Cops said I didn't pass the field tests, so I get to the station and get a breathalizer. I blew a 0.06%, which is under the limit in CT. So they said pee in a cup. I did, got released, and waited. Got a lawyer, went to court 2-3 times with no piss test results, so the DA says come back one more time in a month and we'll drop the whole thing if no results show up. Well, of course results do show up and they show the pot that's been in my system pretty much for the past 10 years. Note: Not at all high while I was driving. After my first DUI I won't even drink more than a beer or two and drive. Hence the 0.06%
So the DA says well we can't drop it now because of the THC that showed up in your system. So now, with nothing else really to loose, and since I don't want to admit guilt to this, I have to shell out more $$$ to my lawyer to go to an actual trial. That process begins in Dec...
Now I'm not one to complain. My life is great compared to some others in this world and I'm thankful everyday for that. But damn, shit just keeps happening...

There's nothing wrong with venting, especially over real shit. Hell, most people on here shed tears over an artist doing something they don't like. Look how many people cried when Tech did a song with Lil' Wayne. Atleast this is real shit.
I honestly don't know where to begin and I think my problems are too personal to share. Oh, that and when ever I vent about something I'm considered to be a little whiney bitch.

im always gettin hit with shit.. i always get close to posting something about it on facebook but end up just venting through my lyrics/songs.. personal health issues ive been struggling with for the past 3 yrs aside.. the most recent thing is my mic/recording equipment has been fuckin up more & more lately & i have no idea whats causing it or how to fix it.. doesnt sound like much but it hurts when you give your all into something & think you did it perfectly then go back & its all fucked up... definitely discouraging haha

Its been raining diamonds on my end so its hard to find anything to vent about except old shit that im way over by now. The only thing i can think of that really sucks is the amount im working lately, which is also why things r going so well lately. I have a full and part time job that im getting helly hours with. It only sucks cus my full time job is 3pm to 11pm everyday and my part time job is 6am to 10am every day so im getting like 4.5 hours of sleep a day and my only day off is wednesday and thats pt day at the recruiters from 4:30pm to 6pm. I gots no free time, but im making bank. So i cant complain. Things will get better killa, just a matter of time

What type of recording problems are you having Warlock? If you can detail what's happening and list your current signal path, I might be able to help you troubleshoot. I have been home recording for about 30 years, every problem has a solution.

i dont know what you mean by signal path im an amateur at this shit.. basically.. when i record my vox it sounds like im talkin through the radio or some shit.. sounds all tin canny.. thats really the only way i know how to describe it.. im using an m box 2 & a nt1a rode mic.. ive had em both for about 5 yrs now.. seems like this problem just recently started occurring several months ago..

Thats shitty Carnival, good luck with everything. Lawyers ain't cheap but it's more promising of a light sentence if you got one. I had a public defender, I don't got no money for a lawyer. Hopefully they won't hit you with a DUI charge, for the pot. Pot can be in your system for awhile if you haven't touched it or anything, unless you keep drinking water and all possibly. I could have had my license suspended when I got into some shit but they didn't test me, so they had nothing to prove but they had enough evidence to put me in cuffs. I'm a few months done my probation, all I got is my fines to worry about though. Knock on wood. And again good luck to ya, another day alive and breathing well is a good enough reason to smile. Bong hits for Carnival.

Yo, you probably already know this, but you probably shouldn't have pissed in that cup until you had called your lawyer.
Here is a nice little video (kind of long, but informative) done by a defense lawyer, about why you should NEVER under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES talk to the police and let them question you. Even if you have done absolutely NOTHING wrong.

@pigofdoom it doesnt matter in kentucky. You can refuse the field test but refusing the blood test is automatically pleading guilty to a dui. I actually learned that in a dui class lol

Might be a beat up diaphragm in your microphone. I would expect something along those lines... Assuming there were no other changes in your set up. I don't know much about interfaces, I'll try to look up the stats on your unit later tonight. The best way to pin it down, is to test your equipment independent of itself. Try your mic in something else, even if that means running up in bestbuy and "testing" a floor unit. Then test your interface, I'm not sure what type of inputs you have or testing options, but with only two pieces in the path, it shouldn't be hard to find out what is giving you problems... I would hope.
What software to you record with? I assume you do all your mixing, effects, compression, etc. on your computer. You should scan craigslist if you can for good deals on dedicated hardware for these kinds of things. They can make a world of difference in my opinion. Especially compression. Good luck, keep me posted.
