When I smoked I tried to consider non smokers. I wouldn’t smoke around anyone who was eating, I think its a dick move. Tried to go away from non smokers if possible.
Our venues in Pittsburgh have outside areas for smokers. Even tho I don’t smoke, I still go out there between sets, I mean its where the cool kids are.

I don’t mind dealing with people toking or even smoking at concerts. Outdoor festivals I care not one bit. Indoors, depending on the venue, I suppose ciggs might get to me after awhile. A small place like The Brewery in Raleigh, NC at a Twiztid show, for instance, I ran out of breath in the pit due to such bad ventilation and so many smokers and tokers.
At restaurants, just fucking wait and smoke your ciggs elsewhere. I’m glad its banned in NY. On the flip side, a straight up BAR is a BAR. Its a social joint created to make money off of folks who partake and pay for sedatives and stimulants. I’ll deal with it there. Even enjoy the faint cigg smoke at times. But a grill or pub that has more than just a salty vending machine and pickled eggs? Nope, keep your cigg smoke outside or in one of the ventilation rooms if you’re lucky enough to be in a place that has one.
I worked in a chocolate factory where you weren’t allowed to leave the building for anything unless you were done for the day. The very trace of smoke can contaminate the chocolate. They usually did 9-12 hour shifts. My current neighbor below me works there, 12 hour shifts. I know more than one smoker who have quit on the first day because they just can’t hack it.
BTW, the job was horrible and they laid me off after two days.

Ive only been kicked out once for smoking a blunt at the Clockwork Grey tour in St Pete. Blaze had only been on like 10 min or so too. I was pretty pissed…

Never been kicked out of a show. Usually bring greens and a bowl with me to a show. I just hate it when the moochers come around wanting a hit or something. I remember this girl wanted some weeds so I said sure and then she mentioned her boyfriend wanted some. Fuck that. Security has never been an issue for me. Concert days I’m faded.

My homie only got caught because we were toward the back while AMB was opening, so it was easy for security to spot us. Last time I’ve ever made that mistake. Haven’t made it out to a HOB spot yet but I’ll keep that in mind if I do.

@PRJ As far as doing their job is concerned, I cannot argue with you there. I just think a more appropriate action would have been to simply take the joint. I do my best to consider those who don’t smoke in the crowd I blow the smoke up. That last part makes my smoking a bit more obvious, but a bit more considerate. If you are at a Twiztid concert, you should expect some weed smoke. I can happily agree to disagree with you.
@OCJ Damn that fucking bat mitzvah comment had me dying, but after a couple concerts I learned patience is a huge virtue since most security wants nothing to do with the front of the crowd during an ICP or Twiztid set. That was still pretty early on in my concert going experiences

For the sake of brevity refer to omds post on smoking for my opinion on it. I dont smoke in restaurants even if you can on principle. I usually dont smoke in venues because 9/10 im up front hot sweaty dehydrated and drunk and smoking cigs makes me see white dots. You should expect smoke at a venue but at the same time us smokers should be wary of the people around us. There is usually a smoking section

Never been kicked out of a show or anything like that. One time in middle school my homies and I got kicked out of the Nebraska history museum, but that’s about it. I’ve always been a pretty good kid.

i got kicked out of a couple churches, which was fine with me. also banned from a couple stores for boosting shit, not that i stopped going to them. kicked out of class once, just told to leave. i was not a particularly good kid.
havent been thrown out of a concert. kinda odd, thinkin on it, since ive been involved, usually indirectly, with a few altercations and ‘disagreements’ with security types. mostly, i try not get caught up in anything, i stand out too much.
my number one crime partner threw himself out of a show once. hallowicked tour, no less. he suddenly found that he couldnt hack it, went outside to get away, chilled there til it was over.
i was a little shocked by that. ive seen the guy work up the entire line with one faygo, and clear out mosh pits by himself.

Did your friend have a panic attack? My brother used to get them something terrible at shows. He was zoned for a hefty portion of GOTJ 2002 and I felt awful for the guy. Crowds and certain scenarios. The only show he went to without me, he was with my other brother and his friend, and my bro smoked two blunts on the ride to the Bizzar/Bizaar show. He was one of those people who have awful marijuana paranoia so I don’t know what he was thinking. He told me about the experience and for those of you who have had panic attacks, I’m sure you know the feeling.

Ive had a panic attack before too.lack of sleep for a few days will get you there quick.It really feels like you are gonna die.heart racing cant breathe.I just went to sleep and the next day I was fine.never from smoking weed but I used to get real paranoid around people when I first started smoking years ago but you get used to that,at least i did. edibles like brownies that are really strong give me panic attacks.I stay away from them now.

I got escorted out by security at an ICP gig in Sydney a couple of months ago for selling my cd on a licensed premises, I gave the security dude a cd and he let me back in after I put my stash back in the car! lol
