Anything we know about genes and lots of other stuff, can be proven incorrect through advancement.

can be, yes.  hasnt been yet, though.

that is the best thing about the scientific method.  there are no absolutely final answers, because science allows for modification.  belief systems do not.

You're putting words in my mouth.

thats why i said, if.  so as not to put words in your mouth.

Go back to your first response, and add on to what we know, and what we're about to find out.

i dont know what that is supposed to mean.

Just thought you were taking up the other side of the argument, when my whole point to begin with is none of us have a clue. So since we know that's the case now….there shouldn't have been a debate to begin with….as far as I was involved with it.

none of us, here, has a clue [well, i do, but not a lot more than a clue, so dont start again], but there are thousands of people out there who do actual work on the subject.  they are well informed, indeed.

i feel that taking their word for it, over, say, some pundit, is totally fair.

They're all pundits in the big picture.

Science is a belief system. Scientology… i'm sorry for that.

In a serious thought though. Science & belief systems both have positive & negative effects on society. Some belief systems have led to hatred and through science lives have ended through advancement of splitting atoms. Most belief systems give a answer to those scared of dying and nothing happening. Science has made advancements into prolonging life through medicine.

The human condition is interesting.

Scientists claim to know the secrets of the universe, but can't cure the common cold.

scientology is a belief system, yes.  it also has nothing at all to do with science, except for a few letters in common.

I think science is necessary to help us understand….but a little bit of BELIEF in a higher magic won't hurt them. At the least it could help them keep an open mind.

BELIEF in a higher magic will make them ignorant of anything that does not support the belief.

If religion or higher magics were proven to be real than they would be science, there would be a scientific explanation behind it. For now they are theories, many of them fading.

One thing I read that separates humans from other animals is that when animals get wet they think “Am wet” when humans get wet they think “I am wet”. If that makes sense.

Actually they aren't fading. If you understand theories than scientifically higher beings and heaven & hell are just on another plane of existence than our own. Can we access these other planes of existence? No, but the possibility of them existing is as probable as gravity.

Many theories are fading like the God creating earth theory has scientifically faded. Unless you want to claim that the universe is God.

I think that the theories of Heaven and Hell are scientifically fading because the lack of evidence that they exist. They are just as proven a theory as Narnia existing.

And gods existing is as true as aliens existing and water is really a living organism and birds have no use other than eating trash.

Don't some birds, like humming birds, don't they help pollinate flowers?
