Since we're using a primarily Mario-centric metaphor to discuss life and death, the aforementioned 1-Up, here's a particularly pessimistic yet oftentimes painfully valid statement (for you Mario Karters): life is a game of Mario Kart, for when you think you've made it to first place, some unholy force or dickhead hits you with a blue shell.

There is no 1st place with God, you either please him or you don't. Jesus struggled with this concept with his apostles. He found them arguing one day over hierarchy. He said no look you are all equal I am not your master. He goes on to wash their feet as an example. Nobody is better if we all wash each others feet right?? lol

I thought this was a good example of being equal but also that the people that wrote the bible didn't even understand what they were writing..

Its not about religion, its not about the church, its about treating fellow man as an equal.

That is why Jesus was a living example and gave example after example with the attempt to show people God's way.

I'd love to have an eternal tie with Toad, Peach and Bowser and all the rest of those weird fuxks, but it seems like they're only out for themselves.

Cause real evil muthafuckas usually go for the cover of being religious, nah mean?

You can still have good morals and beliefs without religion. Comics instilled good morals in me before any religious book or DC reached me. laugh

But then you still believe good over evil. How can that be explained?

I am religious and I believe in god, but this is hardly discussed at home and I don't push it on my children. one time my son had the croup and his throat was closing up. it got to the point where he stopped breathing and turned blue. my wife carried into the house to call for help. when she got in he started breathing again and his first words were gods says I owe him one. now again we don't go to church and we maybe talked about god a total of tops 10 times with him and when we did it was a very brief discussion. when this happened he was only seven. now I ask how does a child that does not know of god come up with something that.

You'd be suprised how much children absorb. how much they learn just from listening.

thats a pretty awesome story though. i believe in god but i am not religious. i think that religion propogates hatred alot of the time. i will not repent as a sinner for living my life as i see fit.

i do my best to be a good person and if that is not good enough, only god can judge me. not a pedo in a white dress.

I remember when me and god went out for a drink. We discussed the ignorance of what people believe to be truth and lies. How a single voice can manipulate the weak and demonize the strong. How a mere good deed goes unnoticed but ends up being a driving force for hope.

I see it as a yin and yang, light and dark, cant have one without the other. What would good be without evil?

without evil, goodness would be evil and therefore meaningless.

without the power of choice, it voids both.

That would mean you have some thick, spiritual beliefs. I don't think you understood the original question.

I wouldn't go as far as to say all evil people hide under the guise of religion. I can understand why they do though. Evil people enjoy their freedom as much as the next man, so it's necessary to devise a character for yourself to make you seem more human. All monsters(serial killers and such) try to blend it like normal people.

I think the majority of us like to think we are good, religious or not
