We recently caught up with Psychopathic Records’ newest artist, Wakko The Kidd, following his fresh ass performance opening for Insane Clown Posse at the Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas.
The North Hollywood-raised rapper is the latest member of the label after Violent J of ICP personally announced his signing last summer. Wakko The Kidd shared that touring with the clowns is a “dream come true,” noting he has been on this grind for a long time. In a full-circle moment, he recalled doing his first-ever interview with me 10 years ago.
Wakko’s focus as a signed artist is to bridge musical worlds. He revealed his mission is to “merge the two”—Juggalo culture and other hip-hop cultures—in the “freshest way possible,” stating his goal is to “combine the streets and the juggalo culture” and push the music into places it has never reached across America.
Prior to connecting with Psychopathic, Wakko spent time in Atlanta after linking up with B.o.B., an experience he says allowed him to “soak up a whole different part of the hip-hop culture.”
Beyond the music, his business relationship with ICP is rooted in his cannabis brand, Airheadz. He initiated the collaboration by suggesting to Violent J that they develop a co-branded weed strain, a proposal which J enthusiastically accepted.
Wakko The Kidd is preparing to release his Psychopathic Records debut, “In Airheadz We Trust,” which will feature the singles “Bloodbath” featuring Violent J, “Bury A Body” featuring Ouija Macc, plus more freshness!
