Damn is it just me or does it seem like MNE is severely slacking lately? Like, they’re putting in minimal effort on everything. Merch designs, concepts, art, hell the only real thing they have as a selling point for this, is some “unreleased” rydas track they pulled out of a hat.
Dunno what’s going on but something seems amiss..

Blaze is so fucking slack with his shit. All he needs to do is write and record. He could drop at least one album per year, easily. Not like his albums are works of art that take multiple years to perfect.
Instead he drops some outtake shit, 4 years after his last album. I can’t imagine he’s ballin off his discography. Residulas can’t be keeping him living large. Just make albums.

Honestly, even new albums most likely aren’t paying anymore. Just the way the industry is these days. Plus, how much does it cost to put out a new record (factoring in the recording, pressing, distribution, etc)? It is probably more lucrative to release a collection like this and see how many copies you need to press up based on the amount of pre-orders. Something like this doesn’t necessarily need to sell great. With a new record, you need to more than just break even on your investment (and of course tour).
To 80FOE’s point, MNE probably doesn’t have the money to be a rapidly producing record label like when they first launched. The shit just doesn’t sell. Not a dig at them. Just how shit it. PSY probably isn’t too far off. They just have the benefit of being around for decades. All artists are relying on touring to make a living. And that is even extremely expensive now. Especially with most venues taking 20-30% of merch sales.

A cycle of touring, recording, releasing a project, touring that project etc. Is really the only way an artist can make real money in this day and age. Staying relevant is an artist like Blaze’s only hope of dying with money.

Blaze’s MNE releases:
Gang Rags Reborn(2014)
Casket Factory(2016)
Casket Maker ep(2016)
Dead Vulture ep(2016)
Ride the stars ep-zodiac mprint(2016)
Triple Threat w/Twiztid(2017)
Graveyard Greats compilation(2019)
Rydas album(2020)
Cadaver(2020)
Oh the horror meets blaze(2021)
Plus the 3 drive by ep’s he put out with abk
And the upcoming odyssey w/Twiztid and dj godzilla
That’s a decent amount of music in the last decade. Including this compilation that’s 15 projects. Not including his features all over year of the sword, attack of the ninjas, and other artists releases. He’s always been a little slower with releases but when you line it up like that it’s not too bad. Only 7 solo projects though. He only released 7 solo projects within 13 years at psy.
