Tunnel Runners “Hatchet House” Celebrates 15th Anniversary! [Mini-Editorial]

On Tuesday, August 19, 2008. Psychopathic Records gave 13 unsigned heavy hitters of the underground a huge opportunity to help expand their music across the underworld of rap! And show the Juggalos independent music beyond the label that runs beneath the streets. Simply by releasing the fan favorite “Hatchet House” compilation ‘Tunnel Runners”. “Tunnel Runners” featured 13 exclusive cutthroat original tracks  from the likes of Q-Strange, Lo Key (Mission Infect), King Gordy, Jason Porter, J Reno, CLAAS, KidCrusher, Playaz Lounge Crew,  Psycho Jesus (Mission: Infect), Mars (Mad Insanity), F-Dux, Intrinzik, and even Mastamindz.

In honor of the release of “Tunnel Runners”. F-Dux, J Reno and Mars ended up being asked directly by Psychopathic Records to rock sets alongside Insane Clown Posse, Awesome Dre, and  Twiztid during Hallowicked 2008 in Detroit! Grave Plott (Liquid Assassin & Killa C) were originally set to appear on “Tunnel Runners”. But after they signed with Strange Music to release “The Plott Thickens” in May of 2008, Grave Plott were quietly  removed from the official  release. As it was supposed to only feature all unsigned recording artists.  Despite this, the “Tunnel Runners”  compilations was a hit amongst the underground. As fans of the  OG “Tunnel Runners” compilation are still clamoring for another release to this very day. Where were you when “Tunnel Runners” first dropped?! Which tracks from “Tunnel Runners” do you still bump on the daily? Leave your thoughts below!

P.S. From Joshua Philley

“If you listen to the album carefully….. You will hear Mastamindz guitar riff on “Pop”!! Then listen to Mastamindz (“Side Of The Line”) and you’ll hear Q Strange doing the 401 General screaming orders like a drill sergeant. Not many know that Easter egg.”

I remember being soooo excited for this and then feeling really let down.
    Top songs were
    1. Snap Music
    2. Tyler Durden
    3. Neck Cuttaz

Pretty much all the others didn’t do anything for me. I had too high of hopes based off the “Let Em Bleed” series ((WHICH I STILL DON’T KNOW WHY THEY HAVEN’T DONE MORE))
