Flint, Michigan’s King 810 first came upon our underground music radar after hearing about their infamous deer carcass incident at the Dirtfest hardcore/metal festival held in the Summer of 2008 in Birch Run, Michigan. Where the band threw a rotted deer carcass into the audience while performing on stage. Around this time, Jason Hale (Chiodos) was a member of King 810. As King 810 were once signed to the New York label Equal Vison Records. Not long after, their own fans started a riot with fires inside a Lansing, Michigan venue because their set was cut when they were locally opening for Jeff Loomis of progressive metal band Nevermore. Then Rob Flynn of Machine Head shouted out King 810 as one of his new favorite bands he was listening to.
Their single “Kill ‘Em All’ started to blow up online after they briefly signed to Roadrunner Records for two full length albums, leading them to perform at Knotfest 2014, touring with Tech N9ne and rocking various Psychopathic Records events. While also touring with Korn and Slipknot. Since then, the Rust Belt band has remained 100 percent independent, releasing albums by themselves. And continue to sell out shows, especially in Europe. As their frontman Yavid has gained respect in the rap world with his own solo hip-hop material. We can’t wait for the what’s in store musically from them for the next 15 years!
