Peep the official teaser for the upcoming A Killer’s Confession “Roots Bloody Roots” cover below.
When Brazilian legends Sepultura released their 1993 experimental thrash classic, ‘Chaos A.D’., listeners were intrigued by the exploratory nature of the instrumental work and its Brazilian influences. But the follow up album, ‘Roots’ (1996), became an even more ambitious project that pushed the boundaries of traditional rhythmic structures and composition. It is a sprawling work composed with daring creativity and innovation that stands out as one of Sepultura’s most brilliant albums.
As the lead single ‘Roots Bloody Roots’ alludes to the multi-layered themes explored throughout this masterpiece; from socio-political ideas to philosophical notions about identity, it’s an exploration into what it means to be human in all its complex forms. The songs are often infused with rhythms inspired by indigenous tribes from South America, which create a sonic landscape unlike anything else previously heard before within the heavy metal genre. With that being said, we cannot wait to see what A Killer’s Confession brings to the table for their own cover of ‘Roots Bloody Roots’!
