Whats up ninjas, and ninjettes?  Pohanka back again with another tour review. Today it’s the Marvelous Missing Link Tour in the dirty south in Atlanta featuring ICP, POD, DJ Paul, Young Wicked with local support from Beatmade Entertainment’s Stevie Miles.

The day started off with me and the lovely Hashly Haze leaving our home in Hendersonville NC around 10am. A 3-1/2 hour trip to Atlanta is nothing new for us, but this was for something special. This could have possibly been the last Psychopathic show at the Masquerade in Atlanta. After meeting up with some friends, getting our rides situated, and having some delicious pizza burgers, we all headed out to the show. We arrived at the Masquerade around 2pm which is very late for a juggalo show at this venue. Atlanta has always had some of the most dedicated, and huge juggalo crowds. I can even remember showing up to a show back in 2006 and there being a HUGE juggalo BBQ going on behind the venue. But that’s another story for another time.

After hanging out behind the venue, talking with juggalos, taking pictures, and just enjoying the fun, we all headed to the front of the venue. Once we got there we were met with tons of familiar faces!  Some friends I had personally known since 2002 got wind of the show and it possibly being the last time they will see the clowns at this venue, so they drove up from south Florida. It was great seeing everyone, but at the same time it was almost bittersweet… like going to your favorite store or restaurant before they close their doors forever.

Once inside, Hashly and myself decided to hit the little bar in the back.  She had never had food from the venue, and it was one of my favorite things about this place. Masquerade chicken fingers…. if you don’t know about it…you never will.

The crowd was buzzing, moshing and hype!  All this before the first act even took the stage!

Local support: Stevie Miles

This act came out to an already super hyped up crowd. He was bouncing around the stage and spitting his raps. Dude has skills. Very MGK-like. Look him up!

Young Wicked

I’m sure everyone reading this knows who he is… but in case you don’t know, Young Wicked is a big time player in the Psychopathic Records family. He comes out spitting pure fire! He played a set full of tracks from his new solo CD Slaughter. He comes out locked in a straight jacket and for good reason: Dude is crazy! Crazy good at what he does… which seems to be everything from rap, to playing instruments, to producing and engineering. He even gave us some Killjoy Club by singing his verse from the super group’s single “Surprise” before audio technical issues cut his set short. Do not sleep on Young Wicked. Be sure to scoop up his CD “Slaughter”.

DJ Paul

3 6 Mafia and Killjoy Club‘s own DJ Paul showed love to Atlanta by coming out with the clowns on the Missing Link Tour. This was pretty cool to see. I’ve seen 3 6 Mafia a few times in my life, but to just see DJ Paul by himself was new to me. He started out with words I’ve never heard live before: “I stab you with an umbrella, and then open it”. Needless to say I started marking out. He rapped his verse from just another crazy click, and did his verses from 3 6 hit songs like “I Stay Fly” among others, also gave us some new “Master of Evil” tracks. Check out DJ Paul and pick up his new CD Master Of Evil!

POD

I remember hearing POD for the first time when I bought a game on my PlayStation 2 called Aggressive Inline. These guys from San Diego CA came to the Gathering and killed it, and they did nothing short of the same on this tour. Plenty of heavy sounds, lots of moshing and plenty of camera candy for Hashly to capture! If you dig loud and moshing music check out POD!

Face-paint? Check! Faygo? Check!  Juggalos? Check!  This is an ICP show. When the curtain drops, you know it’s about to go down! ICP hits the stage and the crowd just erupts into a frenzy. Crowd surfing, moshing, dancing, singing…ICP has them doing it all. They opened up with a very fitting song for how the crowd was acting “Explosions”. For a new song, the crowd was instantly into it.  They knew the lyrics, and were on top of it!

ICP has always been a great show.  We were talking to a local photographer who had no idea what she was in for, and it was such a blast seeing them after the Faygo started flying! Hashly was having a great time and at the same time being a super ninjette protecting her camera.  Violent J was very into spraying her so she was on her toes all night.

Lots of Faygo! The amount of Faygo they spray is normally pretty high, but for this night, I think they went all out!  The Masquerade has always been a great venue with everything the food to the bouncers.  When the Faygo gets thrown here, it’s always fun because the bouncers have just as good a time during the show as we do!  When it slowed down, they sang “Juggalo Party” off their new CD Marvelous Missing Link: Found. This song took the crowd from hype to very relaxed and chill. Faygo and smiles were all around you. It was AWESOME.  They were about to close the show out, and I started up my Go-Pro for the final song. It was magic seeing them here… this is where I saw the clowns for the first time ever…so to see them possibly for the last time there was beyond special to me!  To go out ON the stage throwing Faygo with them made it even better!  Lots of smiles, lots of friends, and even a few tears… This was one of those shows that I will remember for ages to come.

I wanna personally thank FaygoLuvers, Scottie D, and Psychopathic for the opportunity to go and to write these reviews. I also wanna thank Hashly for being the perfect teammate in the field and in life.

Special thanks to ICP, POD,DJ Paul,Young Wicked, The Masquerade, all of our homies, and the juggalos in Atlanta for a special show! Also to the security guards at this show in particular… you guys rocked for being so cool with all the Juggalos and helping out people when they needed it. You guys went above and beyond what a security guard is paid to do!

Until next time, I’m Pohanka

See you guys at JUGGALO DAY!
