VICE.com covers Cannibal’s heroic final actions

While the friends, family, and Juggalos worldwide are still in mourning over the tragic passing of Thomas “Cannibal” Cottingham, there is some good that has come of the situation.  Even though we lost him, and would do anything to have him back, media has started to pick up on the fact that he was a Juggalo and did a deed so selfless that it costed him his life.

Mitchell Sunderland, who has covered several Juggalo events in the past including Gatherings and Juggalo Days, has put together a story recapping the senseless taking of his life.  The great part about the story is that it focuses on Cannibal’s heroic actions, and ties it to the FBI’s labeling of Juggalos as a gang.  Here’s an excerpt from J-Webb from the article:

As heroic as Cannibal’s act of bravery was, Juggalos do amazing things all the time—you just never hear about them. Juggalos organize toy drives, food drives, neighborhood cleanups, all kinds of amazing shit. If there’s something good to come out of this senseless tragedy, it’s that now people might think twice before passing negative judgement on a Juggalo.
