From blog.thehypemagazine.com:

Let’s hop right into this brand new fifth solo collection, “Son of Sam” — Conceptually, what does that title represent both to and for you?
It means me! I am both the son of a long lineage of men named Sam Watson. And, I am the .44 caliber killer “Son of Sam” on the mic.

How does “Son of Sam” either differ and/or compare to previous Krizz Kaliko efforts?
It differs in it’s way more singing on this album. And, I reinvent myself with each release. Its similar in the way that I always run through the scale of all types of music on my albums. Maybe challenging to market, but the fans that hear it love it without ever being bored.

Longevity, what do you attribute yours to? What do you feel has been the ultimate key to your success?
My longevity, I attribute to relentless touring and quality music. Plus, I’m inside out. The fans relate to my stories, love the flows and really love the melodic delivery.

Do you have any outside aspirations, maybe completely away from entertainment?
My outside of music  inspirations would include people like Bill Gates…Books like (Robert Greene’s) “The 48 Laws of Power”…And, growing up with a poverty stricken mother — Who still made a way for me. Not (to) mention my father, who died when I was a kid, who owned his own business right out of college and made his own way. That’s what pushes me and pushes me to be successful. And, pushes to push people that are part of my organization to make my projects as successful as possible.

Reflecting, what particular string of events led to your initial hooking up with Tech N9ne and eventual inking to his Strange Music imprint?
Me and Tech N9ne met by chance. He was doing music with my sister’s ex-boyfriend, Icy Roc Kravin. He was Icy Roc’s earlier protégé. Then left to get a record deal. I became Icy Roc’s new protégé. And, when Tech returned to Kansas City, he was impressed by my work, talent and work ethic, and asked me to do his music with him. At that same time, he had hooked up with Travis O’Guin, our CEO at Strange Music, started the label and we took to the road. It’s been a long battle, but we’re here! I became the second most popular guy at the label by being by his side all of these years. All of our fans know me well. Now, the world needs to know me well!
