Insane Clown Posse’s Hallowicked blasts Fillmore Detroit with plenty of Faygo-filled fun

Eric Lacy from Mlive.com attended last night’s Hallowicked. A few hours ago he posted a short article and some photos from the event.

While there is not anything news worthy in this article, i still felt like sharing it we everyone. You can view the full article and see the photos below.

From Mlive.com:

DETROIT, MI – “Happy Halloween!,” yelled Violent J of the Insane Clown Posse to Thursday night’s Fillmore Detroit crowd. “Twenty years … and counting!”

A holiday milestone clearly meant a lot to fans known as “juggalos” who have supported this hefty rapper and his sidekick Shaggy 2 Dope, billed as “The Most Hated Group Ever,” through plenty of ups and downs over the years.

This was a night in the Motor City full of wicked clowns, bizarre monsters, spooky stage props and plenty of Faygo-filled action that certainly didn’t appear to make anyone leave disappointed.

The ICP were back home and remind me that they still know how to put on one heck of a show.

Now I can’t help but wonder how many Faygo two-liters they burned through just so they could make it a night to remember.

Both Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope knew the drill going into this Hallowicked performance and kicked off the night with two of their most popular songs: “The Might Death Pop” and “Chicken Huntin.'”

“We’re never going to die!,” yelled Shaggy, about halfway through the rap group’s 80-minute set.

Shaggy might be right, at least in terms of the group’s following, based on its remarkable staying power in a music business that appears more volatile than ever.

This is a unique rap group that not only sells albums, but has created its own merchandising empire and its own TV show on Fuse called “Insane Clown Posse Theatre.”

Fans chanted “Family, family!” throughout the show, and clearly appreciate the ICP’s effort to maintain a kinship with them.

Violent J and Shaggy want to be on their side and are fighting along with their Psychopathic Records label legal battles throughout the U.S. to get juggalos off the FBI gang list.

For more on that matter, check out my interview with Violent J back on July 18.

Thursday’s show was followed up with an afterparty at the Majestic Theatre that included JCW wrestling and other events.

I left with sticky pop all over me, just like hundreds of others crammed on the Fillmore Detroit’s floor.

I doubt any juggalos who showed up would’ve wanted it any other way.

Some things never change, and probably shouldn’t.

Like them or not, the Insane Clown Posse is a group of survivors that have a brand and act that simply can’t be duplicated.

How are ICP keeping a kinship with juggalos? Look at their twitter and seminars. There’s no communication anymore. Not even weekly freeklies with J giving his thoughts on anything. They’ve turned into an infomercial over the years. Here to promote something and peace out. Wasn’t the FBI thing already settled?
