Some of you may remember an article we posted a short time ago about the Scrub Care Unit and what they would be doing at this year’s Gathering. Well they hit us up the other day with a few quick stats, and we thought we’d share them with you.

The SCU and its volunteers handed out (approximately) 2,400 hot dogs, 240 hamburgers, and 300 other grilled items (sausage, steak, etc), along with 2,100 bottles of water. They estimate they served 3,000 Juggalos.

On top of the food, they also collected clothing items to be redistributed to less fortunate ninjas. The SCU collected approximately 350 pounds of clothing, with 300lbs being redistributed and the other 50lbs went to the Goodwill back home.

Total FOOD estimates are:
Hotdogs served: 2,280
Bologna sandwiches served: 300
Hamburgers served: 240
Misc donated food: 100 (est..)
Steak dinner/steak sandwiches: 30+
Port roast dinner/sandwiches: 20+
Water: 80 cases
Faygo (12 packs): 30
Faygo (2 liters): 24
and LOTS of misc food (e.g. bacon, eggs, veggie burgers, etc…) that other folks camping around us had and we cooked up for them/other homies.

Total Clothing donations:
– over 300 lbs of clothing donated
– 30+ pairs of men’s boots/shoes donated
– 15 pairs of women’s shoes donated
– shower supplies donated (e.g. soap/towels/hygene items)

Total donations distributed:
– over 200 lbs of clothing (the remainder went to Goodwill)
– all men’s shoes/boots given out
– all but 3 pairs of women’s shoes given out

Not only was all this going on, the SCU served as a ‘Lost & Found‘ as well as a general congregation area. Everyone around was helping out, even the security was getting in on it! There were also some annonymous ninjas working as well, for example, one evening the SCU was running out of water, and when they awoke the next morning there were eight fresh cases sitting there!
