The Rockapalooza Back to School Bash at The Oaks Resort has been canceled. DJ Clay was scheduled to perform at this event on August 31st. The promoter stated the reason for the cancellation of this event was for personal reasons.

The Rockapalooza Back to School Bash at The Oaks Resort has been canceled.

The all-day rock concert was slated to take place at the rural location near Munith on Saturday, Aug. 31, but promoter Tim Corser told MLive he’s pulling the plug due to some personal issues.

“I have a lot going on right now, and things are pretty serious,” he said in an email.

The Back to School Bash was to feature 30 bands, led by headliner Hoobastank, a band that achieved a big dose of fame in 2004 with its hit song “The Reason.”

Corser is the head of Kings of Rock Entertainment, which is responsible for the annual Rockapalooza show at Jackson County Fairgrounds.

Corser was the entertainment coordinator for The Foundry, 216 Francis St., a downtown Jackson music venue that opened in March. However, venue owner Patrick Colligan announced earlier this week that he and Corser had “mutually” decided to discontinue their working arrangement.

Colligan added that Kings of Rock Entertainment plans to honor the remaining scheduled shows at The Foundry. There are concerts scheduled into November, according to The Foundry Facebook page.

“I have enjoyed working with him (Corser) and I admire his passion for Rock & Roll music,” Colligan posted on Facebook. “He has brought some of the best bands in the country through our doors and those memories will last a lifetime.

“I consider Tim a good friend and I ask you to join me in supporting him in any way that we can.”

J Burl Entertainment has taken over the lead role in booking acts for The Foundry.
