ICP returns to the scene today with an interesting new video for their track “When I’m Clownin’”. The track originally features Kreayshawn, but for one reason or another, she was replaced with the one and only Danny Brown.

The video is an interesting, circus looking funhouse of sorts full of twisted clowns, toothless MC’s, and interesting music.

The video is a pretty typical ICP affair– there’s Faygo, evil looking clowns playing electric guitars, drugs, Juggalettes, and for some reason, a cameo from professional wrestler Rhino. Then, Danny shows up wearing an ICP t-shirt and hangs out with the rapping clown duo. It must be seen to be believed.

Leading up to Wednesday’s premiere, Fuse today released the music video for “When I’m Clownin’” from ICP’s most recent full-length, The Mighty Death Pop. The three-minute track is a silly-rap rubber-horn ditty that includes Shaggy 2 Dope slinging the couplet, “Mad hoes I’m springin’/ They want my ding-a-lingin’.” Thanks to the video’s psycho-circus choreography, we now know that one of these hoes is a bearded lady with a snake.

Shot this past April, the video also showcases a guest appearance from fellow Detroit rap weirdo, Danny Brown, who reps ICP’s hatchetman logo while absolutely murdering his verse. Brown wasn’t on the MDP record—the guest verse on the MDP‘s extended-bonus remix of “When I’m Clownin'” was actually delivered by baby-mama-blogger Kreayshawn. So how did he end up in the video?

“Kreayshawn wouldn’t call us back,” Violent J told us recently over the phone. “So we ended up doing it with Danny Brown.” ICP even hollered at her on Twitter:

Apparently not, though most people with functioning eardrums would call this an upgrade.

“Yeah, I think so too,” agreed J. “He schooled that verse.”

After an instant connection with Violent J at last year’s Gathering of the Juggalos, Danny Brown and fellow Detroit rappers Insane Clown Posse finally appear in the same music video, and it’s everything you’d expect. (Except for a brief cameo from pro-wrestler Rhino.)While many will find that Danny Brown is completely out of his element spitting with a bunch of crazy clowns, one has to take into consideration that among today’s hip-hop, he is a crazy clown! He even notes in his Gathering of the Juggalos journal that “we talk the same, we walk the same.” But that does not take away from the fact that he always delivers a unique and impressive verse in all of his guest appearances, and this one is well worth the watch. The video, which can be seen here, is the fifth music video from Insane Clown Posse’s Billboard Top 10 album The Mighty Death Pop!.
