Chameleon Club! She had an assignment to cover the show for friends and colleagues of her plans, they inundated her with warnings of what would await her at the show. In fact her mother asked her to find someone else to cover the show. But she decided to go an wrote this article about her experience. Its a very good read so check it out.
Here is a part of the article:
“You will be groped.”
That was the warning I received upon asking Drennen Morris of Clarks Summit, a veteran Juggalo, for advice on going to my first ever Insane Clown Posse concert.
Let me begin by saying I am not an Insane Clown Posse fan. To be frank, I find the lyrics elementary and offensive, the beats simplistic and heavily sampled. I actually only heard of the band last year. Prior to that I had lived a blissfully ICP free life.
So while at the hip hop group’s May 7 concert at the Chameleon Club I got a crash course in all things Juggalo.
I remember thinking to myself that I supposed it was kind of Morris to warn me in advance of the groping – at least I could steel myself for it. I also figured that if all that happened to me was a little groping, then all would be well.
Though not incredibly knowledgable about ICP, I had heard enough about their shows and their fan base to not be surprised by his words. Upon telling friends and colleagues of my Tuesday night plans, they inundated me with warnings of what would await me at an ICP show.
