Well Legz Diamond & The Purple Gang’s ‘9 Pistolas‘ album has been out for a little over a month now, and the praise is still rolling in.
AllMusic.com gave the album a rating of 3 and a half stars out of 5, highlighting select tracks such as “9 Pistolas,” “Mary Jane,” and “Not in Real Life.” The reviewer, David Jeffries, describing the album, states that:
the hooks, the good times, and the great feeling are always present on this attractive ride through rap-rock and whatnot

Another review popped up over at RealDetroitWeekly.com as well. Nick Pizana is the reviewer this time, and gives ‘9 Pistolas’ a 3 and a half star rating as well. His article points out the tracks “Cocaine Cowboys,” “I’m Not Happy,” and highlights “We Belong to Love” as “worth a listen.” Pizana rounds out by stating that:
Altogether, 9 Pistolas is a well-rounded and highly entertaining album.

Legz is like a fine savory sauce. When added to ICP, he brings out all kinds of amazing flavor, but if you try to chug just Legz, it tastes nasty as hell.

I thought the album was pretty good. It has a different feel to it. Its nice to hear something different for a change. Also, Legz deserves to put out an album or two. He left a band to be with ICP and has always been behind the scenes and doing some vocals. So, if anyone deserves a chance, its Legz.

I like 9 pistolas. It’s a good album. The gimmick is a pretty sweet one I think. Dillinger style juggalos!
