The homies at Real Detroit Weekly have given us another glimpse into the world of Psychopathic Records and the Insane Clown Posse as they conducted an interview with Violent J! The interview focuses primarily on the FBI / Gang Assessment situation. Judging from the interviewer, Violent J comes off as very emotional about the situation. It doesn’t say where they are with the lawsuit at this point, but only that they are moving forward with it.
Another thing that I think is VERY interesting that they cover is info about the Gathering of the Juggalos, as well as what may be the next act signed to Psychopathic Records! It looks like for the Gathering, we are getting a more undergr0und-themed bill this year. Here’s what was said:
ICP are taking the Gathering in a slightly different direction this year. After seeing big names come on at 4 a.m. to little fanfare, they’ve decided to highlight music acts that people need to hear.
“The theme will be something like the rise of the underground. We’re gonna concentrate on bringing the dopest up-and-coming names. There will be a couple big names, but it’s about focusing on the underground,” says J.
So that’s pretty dope! I hope they still bring some of the bigger names that are fan favorites though! As far as the new Psychopathic act is concerned, check this out:
ICP’s Psychopathic Records has been known to give a voice to acts that ‘los and ‘lettes dig. J was excited about an act (“full face paint and everything”) that he says has a “devastating record” but he stayed mum about specifics. He says he knows the new sound will be received well because Juggalos aren’t in it solely for hot records.
So all we know is that whatever act he is talking about wears full face paint. That doesn’t give us much, but what are your thoughts? Here’s a link to the full article:

No. It sucked. It sounded like they tried to make it the spiritual successor to Wicked and couldn’t keep up with it. Keep my asshole out of your mind.

Come at me bro. But no I don’t like Abominationz or Heart Broken & Homicidal. I don’t like MDP or BPB as much as older records.

Clearly Violent J in 2013 knows what people like and want. It’ll be just another J concept album that flops among the many.

Plus what does that quote even mean? That it’s not hot but juggalos will like it anyway? True there are a lot of brainwashed sheep in the juggalo community I don’t disagree.

Abominationz is Twiztid’s best work ever. Better than Freakshow, and the reason I call myself a Juggalo. The two albums are all original, all Twiztid. Clown love.

Abominatioz was the shit. I like the big names at the gathering. I’ll go no matter what, but I’m not excited to watch a bunch of artists I’ve never heard of. That’s stale as fuck, I’ve seen many acts at the gathering that were underground and can never tell how good the music is from just seeing them in concert. Hard to get excited for this. But, like I said, I’ll go anyway. Just won’t be hype to see concerts on main stage this year, that’s all. Plenty of other shit to do.
