Big Hutch announces new album and talks ICP criticism

So here’s something pretty interesting.  In a new article from HipHopDX.com, they talk with Big Hutch aka Cold 187um about his album that he’s got planned for the first half of 2013.  It’ll be called “Live from Hell’s Kitchen (I Am The Definition Of The Art)”, and not much else is known about it.  In this article though, he does discuss the criticism that he received for associating with ICP and Psychopathic Records.  It’s a good, quick read, and you can see it for yourself right here!  For you lazies out there, here’s the full article:

The Above The Law veteran admits to catching flack from some longtime supporters for rolling with the Juggalos, with whom he scored his first solo Top 200 appearance.

Pomona, California emcee/producer Big Hutch (a/k/a Cold 187um) has announced his second solo album in as many years. The Above The Law co-founder plans to releaseLive From Hell’s Kitchen (I Am The Definition Of The Art)in the first two quarters of 2013.

In 2012, Hutch released The Only Solution on Insane Clown Posse’s Psychopathic Records imprint. The effort garnered the former Ruthless Records star and later Death Row executive his first solo Top 200 chart appearance. In a statement, Hutch addressed the controversy that came with the new alliance. “The Only Solution project was an innovative good idea between myself and Violent J, but everyone is so damn opinionated these days and not going with the idea of the artist’s creativity, the project was harder than it needed to be. We are all independent, we are all against mainstream music, we all should have been one not separate. That goes for both Juggalos and my West Coast Hip Hop fans. We might come from different places but we are all on the same side, fighting the same fight. It’s like anything else in life, if there is no unity the real enemy will always win. End of story.”

I liked this mixtape! It was better than i thought it was going to be. And he didn’t ruin the beats like i thought he was going too.

It will take a while for his vocals to grow on me, but other than that. this is a good mixtape and just remember (it’s only a mixtape) his full length album will probably be a lot better.

I love the fam, but why don’t ninjas respect hip-hop and it’s legends? He is a west coast artist who will bring more real hip-hop fans who aren’t Juggalos to Psy, and those who say Psy isn’t real hip-hop music will give Psy a chance. It is a shame to read fam hating on Cold 187um, disrespecting Method Man and other legends at GOTJ, and being dicks to artists on stage just because you never heard of them. Show some respect to the artists who paved the way for rappaers like ICP.
