Bobcat Goldthwait talks the Gathering of the Juggalos!

I’m sure you all know that Bobcat Goldthwait was one of the talented comedians on the unfuckwithable comedy stage at this year’s Gathering of the Juggalos. In a recent interview with him, they ask him about his current stand-up gigs, and how Juggalos treated him at the Gathering!  Here’s what was said in his interview with Pitch.com:

.

How much are you on the road anymore?

I’m out on the road a fair amount. I just did the Gathering of the Juggalos. I went to the Melbourne Film Festival last week, and the Gathering of the Juggalos. I also did ‘Wait Wait, Don’t Tell Me’. So I’m on NPR and I’m down with the clowns.

What was the Juggalo crowd like?

It’s funny you know. I opened for Nirvana, and I’ve done things like the Harley Fest and I’ve performed for bikers and stuff and I have to say it was — the crowd was very receptive. One of the reviews I saw said ‘Nobody threw shit at him’, so I guess they liked me. Upchuck the Clown got smashed in the head with a bottle of Faygo, and he was my opening act before we went onstage, and he seemed pretty fucked up by it, actually [laughs].

On an unrelated note, we actually had his entire set posted in our Gathering Videos section, but within 24 hours of posting it, got a cease and desist letter from Bobcat’s lawyers. lol.  So it’s been removed.  If you were the handful of people that saw his performance though, you KNOW how he fuckin’ put it down!

Wow, he really had the video removed? You know, I was real hype that he accepted to play, and gave the respect I felt he deserved, but it rubbed me the wrong way when he commented live on whoever it was in the crowd recording his performance. I could see if maybe he was trying some new material or was performing material he hasn’t already used in EVERY SINGLE OTHER RECENT SPECIAL/ACT he currently has out.. If anybody is interested in seeing his act from The Gathering of the Juggalos, just Google his special “You Don’t Look The Same Either” and you can see it literally word for word with the exception of a few comments to the crowd. I still enjoyed the performance, but having FLH pull down your footage when the material is already all over the internet was a bad move. Guess he’d rather have the attention on Ralphie May and Cheech & Chong when people at home are searching for comedy from 2012 GOTJ.

    Much Love!
