ICP speak on the filming of their “Chris Benoit” music video, the Gathering, and MDP!

The Detroit Free Press was on-hand yesterday for the ICP Video shoot that took place in Trenton, MI.  The article goes into the look of the music video that they were shooting: Chris Benoit:

Moving to a director’s instructions, fans in black hoodies and silver horror masks surged toward a wrestling ring housing ICP’s Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope. The face-painted pair mimed their lyrics as the song played overhead at double speed, to achieve a slow-motion effect in the video’s final rendering.

They also talk to a Juggalo who was there a day early, how Violent J gave creative control to the directors they hired to make the video (who also did special effects for a Skrillex video called “First of the Year”), and the meaning behind the track Chris Benoit.

“It’s about that loss of sanity,” Violent J said during a break in the shoot. “It’s about the snapping, that moment of panic.”
