Last night on April 13, 2009 at Peabody’s in Cleveland, Ohio, the End of Days Tour featuring a line-up of Prozak, Potluck, Boondox, and Twiztid showed in a fashion of Wishing to Kill Everyday how to put it down in true family style. The show was fresh at many points and had moments that were lacking leaving it looking kind of whack. You’ll have that with almost every show you go to, but I had not expected it to come from this show at this time. On this tour, like the Toxic Terror Tour, they dropped a new EP ‘End Of Days’. The sound and feel to it are the songs that were recorded in the making of W.I.C.K.E.D., but didn’t seem to make the final cut. Get yourself a copy and check it out.

To start the night off in a guerilla warfare like fashion by rushing the stage and verbally assaulting the crowd was Strange Music’s own Prozak. Hailing from the Murder Glove, to spit his wicked rhymes he got to kick start the whole show and get the crowd ready for what was to ensue. He came out with his usual hypeman who’s been featured on the last three or so tours that Prozak has done, along with the same old group of cameramen that accompany him capturing footage for the next video project the Hitchcock of Hip-hop is working on. He did tracks from his solo debut on Strange, ‘Tales From the Sick’, like ‘It was you’, ‘Scapegoat’, ‘Holy War’ and a few other heavier sounding tracks from the album. He also took back a little bit to his PDM debut with Mike E. Clark and even took the time to kick a few tracks off of ‘Self Inflicted’. This portion of his set was consisted of tracks like ‘Last Breath’ and ‘Corporate Lies’. His set all-in-all was an alright one, not one that I personally would enjoy, but the crowd seemed to enough and it set the night off to a good start.

Shortly after that it was time for the Humboldt heroes, Potluck, to grace the stage and do their damn thing, making the foundation shake all in the name of Hip-Hop. Like every set they perform Underrated came out, solo, and did his verse from ‘What We Are.’ Once completed he was joined by 1Ton and the two began to run through a slue of tracks spanning over their four albums. Their set was newer and improved in more ways than one. They had a few more props on the stage, like two nine foot tall pictorals of their emblem, guy thing gripping the microphone, and then the infamous POTLUCK banner behind them. They even had the lighting set up to change variously throughout the songs in a way they hadn’t before. They did songs like ‘What’s Your Purpose’, ‘Just Like You’, ‘Shut the Fuck Up’, ‘What We Are’, ‘You Ain’t That Fine’, ‘Dank Alumni’, and a few other stoner classics they’ve managed to pump out while releasing their projects.

After their set was done it was time for the Scarcrow, Boondox to hit the stage, grab the mic and do what he is paid to do: perform. He did just that, in a way that is the same as every other time I have seen him live. If you’ve seen him at least twice you have seen this set. It’s not something he can really control, I understand, because he’s only got so many songs that he’s released under the Psychopathic Records label. That doesn’t mean he can’t do some tracks he recorded as Turncoat Dirty and turn some more people on to where he’s come from. It’s whatever though, there could be powers at work higher than I know stopping him from doing that, speculation is yours and mine to figure that part out. However, he did all the songs you can come to expect him to do like ‘Sippin’, ‘Red Mist’, ‘They Prey With Snakes’, and the other eight or nine songs that would usually follow those ones.

It seemed that he would be up there for not too much longer, before he finally hopped off stage. Then it was time for the headliners, the demented duo from Detroit, the toxic twins spinning there treacherous and terribly terrifying tales from the team known as TWIZTID! They have been somewhat busy, you could say. They have been hyping the new album W.I.C.K.E.D. and even filming a few music videos along the way. Now it was time for them to step it up, into the lime light and put it down like they should, wicked and devilishly good. There was a black curtain hanging from the ceiling and the intro kicked on for them to come out, only they were nowhere to be seen. Then at the conclusion of the intro the curtain dropped revealing the two as if they were fresh off of the photo shoot for the album ‘W.I.C.K.E.D.’ looking like two presidential type orators ready to command their army of loyal Juggalos. They proceeded to do their set for a fifty minute span of nothing but material from the new album, minus two to four songs I cannot remember. It was fresh as fuck the way they did it, promo’d the new album, dropped it, and did a concert/tour devoted to that sound. It’s just they didn’t mix it up between the new shit and their old shit we have all come to know and love. Then when the beat for ‘Belle Morte’ came on and went off the two proceeded to leave the stage as if they were exiting the venue. Leaving a handful of fans distraught and some in awe. There were a few who then left before the encore session where they came back to the stage in two completely different outfits then previously had. It was at this point where Jamie and Mono took the microphones, yet again, and finally kicked their old school shit that so many old school Juggalos would crave. This part was only four songs long, but it made up in the sense that they only did new material. The tracks they chose for this session could have been a little bit better, but some of the ones included are classically awesome. Consisting of ‘Bussyoheadopen’, ‘Die motherfucker Die’, ‘So High’, and closing it correctly with ‘Renditions of Reality’ it was like being a regular Twiztid Show.

Like I said the night had its’ ups and had its’ downs. Mostly it was a good show, there were people who wanted more old school shit from Twiztid and some who said Potluck was the highlight of their night. There were some who loved every aspect and some who hated, but like every event there will always be mixed reactions. In my personal opinion, I wish Twiztid could have kept it more old school and it would have made for a better show, yet they still rocked it regardless.
