I haven't really had the time to sit down and listen to this and i was like okay lets do this tonight but that jiffy long song kills any momentum I might have had to carry me through this. I don't mean to be an asshole but I just completely fell apart as soon as the intro ended. You should have buried that track in the track list somewhere, not put it up front.

I'm gonna go get something to eat and try to come back to it in a few.

honestly, song shouldnt be on the thing at all.

just sayin, guys.

You told me it just wasn't singleworthy. Didn't say NOTHING about it not being albumworthy. But, I'm glad. Because around WHERE IM AT, this one guy I barely know, one of my dudes shown him my first CD, and he said it sucked, but he actually liked my songs on this one. Don't know what I'm trying to prove here but, yeah, that! Lol

Everyone I show though, I always tell them Sean is the best guy on the tape (I'm always like, "look out for Sean, he has the best verse on this"), and they agree. One guy at school REALLY liked G.O.D, and said it was really good. We both came to the conclusion that G.O.D is kinda like what Hopsin talks about, only Sean does it without the emo vibe.

I LOVE the intro and Y'all Wann Party. Those ones are the fuckin' SHIT.

People at my school liked DJ Scrubb too, they liked his Curbstomp song.

Let my government teacher hang onto a copy of the tape. Dunno what he thinks of it yet, but he said he was done with the first disk (tracks 1-21). I'll have to ask him what he thought on Monday.

thanks. I realy appreciate that.

a back story on G.O.D., I actually wrote and recorded in 2010. I believe I recorded it on a KMK beat originally. It was one of the first songs I wrote when I started to dabble in music again. I Tweeked the chorus on it for this one. I always liked the song, but I wanted to do it on an Original beat, and once I Heard DJ Scrubbs Beat, I knew it would fit it perfectly.  The Original has no emotion on it at all. lol. I don't think I could let anyone hear it. lol.

But to know that someone likes a song I made is really rewarding. Thank You.

I'll fuck you till you love me, Faggot!

I'm back and made it through two songs and i gotta say they were much stronger.

Drunk as Fuck was alright. The one after it was slightly less alright but didn't make me turn it off.

Curbstomp is on now and it reminds me of a lot of horrorcore from the horrorcore.com days, but the better end of that pool. A Mcnastee, not a Dkaid. I don't even know if anybody knows who i'm talking about.

Thanks for diggin Curbstomp it does have a sweet old school sound to it, it's a great song to perform live too.  That song is about 4 years old!  Lol. I don't rap much so my back catalogue is scarce!  And thought it's a good enough song to put on this tape!

DAF is super dope to me too I love how that song came together.

Here is my epic track by track review-

1. Intro - decent.

2. Get Da Ball Rollin - sounded like a practice track.

3. D.A.F - everyone killed it on the mic, but the beat did not fit the song at all. Should have had a more party vibe.

4. Issues - not feelin this one.

5. Curbstomp - opening verse was dope. Queef talk in a rap might be a little too raw for me.

6. The Bigger Picture - Jiffy Long sounds like he is recording his shit through a styrofoam cup. Sean Law's bars were dope.

7. Dead Love - this one dragged.

8. U Know Nada - meh.

9. 5$ Curry - like the idea, but again, beat did not fit the song. Should have been goofier. Pigg sounded really white on this one.

10. G.O.D. - beat is really fresh, song was not bad.

11. Murder Mitten - my favorite track so far. Beat and chorus match really well, everyone's bars are dope.

12. Razorblades and Hatchets - thumbs down.

13. Original - mediocre.

14. Yall Wanna Party - twas ok.

15. Rise of the Pirate Gang - amateur night. This one sucked.

16. Celebration - 1st lady is a dope singer, really like her tone. I dug this song.

17. The World is Ours - quality track. Sean Law and Sketchez definitely compliment each other's sound.

18. Night Ride - styrofoam cup time again, times two. Also, beat sounds off. Pretty terrible.

19. P.A.I.N. - not bad.

20. Gone in the Dust - beat was alright. Jiffy needs to work on his pen game.

21. Facing My Demons - song was good. Like that Novo mixed in a bit of singing.

22. FLH All Star Cypher - dope shit!

23. Outro - aiight.

Overall my review score for the mixtape would be a 6.5 out of 10.

Good on everyone involved for putting their shit out there, that takes balls.

Perhaps a little more quality control was required before the final product was presented to the public.

I liked Post Mortem Boredom a lot better. Still this one is a very worthy chapter in what is hopefully on ongoing series of dope forum mixtapes!

cheers

Thanks for the feedback, man! These, and the Blood Stepp cypher, are literally the only things I've recorded so far, so I'm still trying to work on getting my delivery down. Hopefully you can hear some improvement from $5 curry to the cypher.

Yeah Pigg's Cypher verse and Outro verse were pretty sweet.

Edit: I also like his verses on Issues, $5 Curry, and U Know Nada.

scan thru tracks!  ..if you don't like something just keep going, each one is totally different

I take music way too seriously to scan. I'll make it through the whole thing but I usually listen to songs a few times at a time, all the way through.

Wow. Give the whole album a listen before start criticizing it.

As soon as I'm done with Phantom, I'll post a review of this on the section. Already started, so we'll see. Bordem was the only other forum mixtape right?

Hell yes! Always loved reading the reviews (well, on the albums I'm interested in, lol).

Yes, Post Mortem Boredom was the only other tape.

haha thanks man, this track was so much fun. im not sure if i agree with you on the beat. i wanted to go with something real hard that you can get stupid to.

4. Issues - not feelin this one.

really? i loved this track.

7. Dead Love - this one dragged.

yeha we been over this, it was supposed to feel very apathetic.

9. 5$ Curry - like the idea, but again, beat did not fit the song. Should have been goofier. Pigg sounded really white on this one.

this was the first song i recorded for the mixtape. it was prior to my learning about mixing. not trying to make excuses or anything. but im going to go back and redo the vocals at some point.

i definitely agree on the beat too. it was something i made like 10 years ago.

12. Razorblades and Hatchets - thumbs down.

this just makes me sad.

why the hate :(

15. Rise of the Pirate Gang - amateur night. This one sucked.

it was supposed to be a joke. it was supposed to sound like it was recorded in someones garage.

cmon though son, that beat was awesome.

19. P.A.I.N. - not bad.

/shrug. i agree.

21. Facing My Demons - song was good. Like that Novo mixed in a bit of singing.

i ummed and ahhed about putting this song on there nearly from day one.

and it was one of the last tracks uploaded lol

one of my favourite songs of mine of all time.

and my first attempt at singng.

glad you dug it ^__^

22. FLH All Star Cypher - dope shit!

yes. it was. i feel like my verses were among the best stuff ive ever written.

23. Outro - aiight.

Overall my review score for the mixtape would be a 6.5 out of 10.

Good on everyone involved for putting their shit out there, that takes balls.

thanks for the review homie!

much love!

i think there would have been a bit of culling but wiht some people jumping ship and a few other hiccups along the way, some of the stuff that should have/could have been culled didnt.

im happy with the final project though.

My Review

Intro- Pretty good, I love scratching 10/10

Get Da Ball Rollin'- alright, good to get a start, one of my choppier tracks, good hook though 7/10

D.A.F- Really good, liked everyone's verses 9/10

Issues- Love the guitar and beat in this one, and Sketchez's verse 8/10

Curbstomp- Love the beat, and I like DJ Scrubb's style, he sounds cool 8/10

The Bigger Picture- I think my verse was just a little awkward, but, I dunno, other people seemed to like it so I took their word, love the hook Sean came up with and his verse 7/10

Dead Love- I FUCKIN' LOVE this beat, one of the best instrumentals I heard, favorite verse is Novocaine's, it always makes me laugh when he says, "feels like getting slapped", great 10/10

U Know Nada- I always enjoyed songs when 2 people switch their parts quick 9/10

$5 Curry- I think the best fit this song great, I think Pigg had the best verse, but I thought the stringy guitar sound fit well with the concept 8/10

G.O.D- like I said, me and my friend concluded that it sounded kinda like Hopsin with the lyrics, but without the emo vibe, one of my favorite songs on the tape 10/10

Murder Mittin- like the singing on this, beat is awesome, sounds like some Detroit shit from Scrubb and Sketchez 9/10

Razorblades & Hatchets- one of my favorite tracks I did, and when Novocaine send me his verse, I never heard him rap really so I thought it was really good 8/10

Original- Loved Sean's verse, Sean and Sketchez are the best collab group, these type of songs are the best that they are on

Y'all Wanna Party- more scratching, FUCK YES 10/10

RISE OF THE PIRATE GANG- fun track, very fun, one of my favorites because of how fun it was, love my verse and Sketchez, definitely sounds like a garage band 10/10

Celebration- one of my other favorite tracks from the tape, along with the great Sean/Sketchez collabs, I think Sean fits well with Scrubb, the vibe with Sean's "beastie boy" voice, and Scrubb's heavy voice, that mix kinda reminds me of Dre and Em. 10/10

The World Is Ours- Nice to hear a Sean/Sketchez track, more heavy, Sean has a pretty swift flow on this that I really like 9/10

Night Ride- another favorite tracks I did, I think the original has more of a laid back gangsta vibe, while this version has a more heavy bass kinda vibe 8/10

P.A.I.N- can't say much about this, haven't listen to it as much as the other ones, good track though, I did like it 8/10

Gone In The Dust- I thought the beat was alright, and my verse was alright, tried to make it sound old school, and Demonic Swagger's verse is pretty sweet, the kinda singing kinda rapping 7/10

Facing My Demons- great "end of album" track and great to hear a Novocaine solo 9/10

FLH All-Star Cypher- Sean comes in with a great start verse, then Novocaine comes in, and like he said, has some of his best verses on this, Sketchez with his laid back voice and flow that I love, and Sean comes back with my favorite verse on probably the album, then I come in with a kinda chill verse, then DJ Scrubb just comes and rips it, right after him, Novocaine has another great verse, then Pigg finishes it off with his chill laid back style, I'm liking Pigg the more I hear him 10/10

Outro- great to close the tape with, a little hint of a war coming, hint of more FLH Tapes, and a little thank you to whoevers listening 9/10

Loved this tape, on of the favorite things I did all year. Very fun to make and it was FUCKIN' great when I got it onto a CD. I love listening to it on my stereo. Like I said on the Outro, thank you all! Ha.

Great detailed review Jiff!  And thank you very much on the props....geez Dre and Em REALLY!?  Hells yeah.  You said you haven't really listened to PAIN, I highly recommend you do homie.  Listen to the lyrics on that song, I know the hook is kinda hard to understand but the subject matter is dope to me that all 3 of us put down!

And I give you props too Jiffy!  Every time I hear you, you do get better.  I've said this before, but if you smooth out your flows and calm down the 'choppyness' you'll be really good.  You got the voice for it man, just gotta practice working on that flow.  I know your young and just starting out....dude we all had to practice for YEARS on just getting somewhat good.  My first songs back in the day were super garbage!  haha  Don't get discouraged on what people say homie, keep doing it and keep improving on the craft!
